A giant KFC bucket seemingly dropped from the sky last week and landed on a Georgia lawn, surprising the residents who lived there.

“I was driving by, I saw this giant Kentucky Fried Chicken bucket in my yard, and I thought for sure I was hallucinating, so I called my teenagers who were at home and had them go outside,” Aleena Headrick said.

It sounds like a frat prank gone wild, but the bucket is actually owned by Headrick’s landlord, Freddie Taylor. He says he collects vintage signage and happened across the bucket, which appears to be around 40 years old. Taken by the old-school logo, Taylor snatched up the bucket and left it in the yard until he could figure out what to do with it. Now, he says he wants to mount the giant bucket on a pole and put it near the road as a tourist attraction.

“It’s unusual,” Aleena said when asked how she felt about that. “But we can just say, ‘come down to the giant KFC bucket and turn right.’ Too often we just need something to laugh about and so I put it on Facebook and told them that I would bring chicken to the next potluck.”

Indeed she will, as KFC heard about the giant prop and offered to give her a free chicken picnic.
