Key Ad Salesman To Quit Yahoo
It looks like Yahoo is set to lose yet another key exec. David Dickman, whose business cards should read something like "Vice President, West Coast Sales," is supposed to leave the position (and the company) at the end of the month.
Dickman isn’t part of Yahoo’s 11-person management team, at least, but he’s a fairly important person in Yahoo’s lineup. Dickman worked for Proctor and Gamble, Katz Communications (which is a subsidiary of Clear Channel), and Turner Broadcasting before heading to the Internet company. That makes for an impressive resume.
It looks like Dickman will continue to do interesting things, too, with Kara Swisher writing that he "is reportedly going to Time Warner unit Warner Bros. to work in digital sales."
And in case you’re thinking that Dickman sounds like a job-hopper, it’s important to note that he spent about three years at Yahoo, and so his departure appears to signify more than a desire for a new desk. (In fact, the move’s especially interesting considering how recently the Yahoo-Microsoft tie-up took place, although Swisher points to a spring reorganization as the possible instigating factor.)
Anyway, the departure of another exec can’t make Carol Bartz too happy, and no replacement’s been named just yet.
