For Kendall Jenner, being born to a famous family has been more of a liability than benefit. Since dropping her last name --following the likes of Madonna and Beyoncé-- the 18-year-old model-of-the-moment has been tapped to walk more runways. She was spotted going out of LAX again Monday, presumably for another modeling job, after having just returned a few days earlier.
In a recent interview with LOVE magazine, previewed by The Cut, Kendall talked about how her association with the Keeping Up with the Kardashians household has actually hampered her high fashion modeling career:
“I was like, 'You know what? I want to be high fashion. I want to be taken seriously ... People think that this [success] just came to me. But it didn't. What I have has almost worked against me. I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn't take me seriously as a model. Because of the TV show.”
She added: “I went on castings and some people weren't feeling me because of my name. But it was great when people didn't recognize me. I was like, 'Thank you. Please don't recognize me.'”
Judging by her reign in the recent NYFW, going by the single name "Kendall" has definitely worked to her advantage.

Big sister Kim Kardashian has also been asked not to attend shows that Kendall will be in and it looks like Kardashian has agreed not to steal the spotlight from her younger sibling.
“Kim was invited to a lot of the shows that I was in,” Kendall said. “She called me before and was like, 'Hey, I was invited to the show, I just wanted to let you know. Do you want me to come?' and I was like, 'No.'”

It can be noted that Kardashian has not been to that many shows this Fashion Month, so it could be assumed she is trying to let Kendall have her moment.
