Ke$ha is the girl who was probably voted "most unique" in her high school superlatives because she was so "weird" and "edgy". In pop music, those things translate into musical gold when done right, and after talking about her new album recently, it seems she's gathered up all her weirdness and thrown it into one big pot.
“There are so many weird topics on this record, from having sexy time with a ghost to getting hypnotized and going into past lives,” she said. “I just really wanted the theme of this record to be the magic of life.”
Wait. "Sexy time with a ghost"?
“I don’t know his name,” she told Ryan Seacrest. “He was a ghost! I’m very open to it.”
The album, which drops on December 4th, includes appearances by Iggy Pop and Wayne Coyne and delves into her experiences with a spirit search as she traveled around the world.
“I was in Africa rehabilitating baby lions," she said. "I went diving with great white sharks, and just went on this crazy spirit quest. I got hypnotized, and I just really wanted this record to be really positive, really raw, really vulnerable and about the magic of life.”
