Kayak Shark Attack: California Man Bullied by Great White

  • Kayak shark attacks are apparently frequent enough to prompt someone to write an exceptionally helpful article about what you’re supposed to do should the situation present itself. I’m sure Joey Nocchi wished he had a copy handy when a 14-foot great white shark attempted to transform his afternoon into a light snack.

Nocchi was having an enjoyable adventure in his kayak when, suddenly, he found himself rising out of the water. “My buddies said I came out of the water 4 to 5 feet—it flipped me over the side. The shark rolled the whole kayak over, rolled me out of it, and he went over the top of it. He swam across me—his tail touched me,” he explained to the San Luis Obispo Tribune.

The same thing happens to Brooke Hogan on a fairly regular basis.

According to one of Nocchi’s companions, the shark came out of the water with its extra eyelids closed and its jaws wipe open, which is exactly what sharks do when they’re attempting to place their lunch order. According to the kayaker, the bite is “around 20 inches long, more than 22 inches wide.” Thankfully, Nocchi made it back to shore with life and limb intact.

“I’ll be bass fishing for a while,” the lucky guy remarked. “Probably from the shore.”

Hearing that kayak/great white shark attack not unprovoked – maybe racially motivated. Jabberjaw en route.

Wow Great white sharks don’t like to eat people… but this was an awfully close call nonetheless… http://t.co/YxV6EyTu
