Katy Perry will be opening for her favorite awards show, the American Music Awards.
"I appreciate all the other awards shows for what they are," Perry said. "Some are just kind of shock jock shows. Some are just like, `Hey, let's see how many celebrities we can get together.' Some are actually legitimate like the Grammys, and the AMAs is a very legitimate show with musicality to it."
The AMAs will be broadcast on ABC, Sunday, November 24. Miley Cyrus will be closing the awards show. Neither of these stars are strangers to award shows or big performances and it's safe to say that neither of them mind being a little outlandish to put on a good show. Miley recently performed at the Europe Music Awards along with Katy Perry.
Miley has had a wild year and she doesn't seem to be slowing down. At the EMA's she smoked a joint that brought some harsh criticism. But if you think Miley lets criticism stop her, you are wrong. She said that the reason she smoked the join was because she knew the Amsterdam crowd would love it and haters would talk about her. She has made it clear that she doesn't care what the media or anyone else things about her actions. She said,
"I don't care what the media says because I don't Google myself so I don't know what they say and I don't care because it's a bunch of people that maybe one time in their life they dreamt about being a journalist and then they became what they are."
It makes you wonder what crazy antics she might have in store for everyone at the AMAs.
