Kathy Griffin announced on Thursday that she was leaving Fashion Police. Following that announcement--which appeared on her Twitter feed--Griffin contacted a few close friends and asked them to show her some Twitter love in light of her resignation. Those friends were all too happy to comply.

"I'm reaching out to you because I think you will understand why I have made this decision and I am asking for your support," Kathy Griffin wrote via an email.

"Oh, and I am nervous and scared about this … in case you're wondering," she added.

The response was overwhelming.

Kelly Osbourne tweeted out the following to Kathy Griffin.

Chelsea Handler sent a tweet, too.

Even Rosie O'Donnell chimed in out of support for Kathy Griffin.

Mindy Kaling, star of The Mindy Project, offered her support as well.

Hopefully all this support helps Kathy Griffin feel better about her decision to leave Fashion Police.

So why, exactly, did she do it?

One report claims Giuliana Rancic and her diva behavior had a lot to do with both Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne leaving the show.

Kathy Griffin is multi-talented and will no doubt move on to bigger and better things. It must pain her, however, to have left the show in light of having been named her dear friend Joan Rivers' replacement.
