  • Katherine Jackson has lost her recent appeal against Michael Jackson’s promoter, AEG Live.

In October of 2013 a jury found that AEG Live was not negligent in hiring Conrad Murray as Michael Jackson’s doctor.

Conrad Murray was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to four years in jail.

Katherine Jackson and Michael Jackson’s children, Prince, Paris, and Blanket, were hoping to have a retrial on AEG’s responsibility in the tragic death of Michael Jackson.

AEG Attorney Marvin Putnam told ABC, “Today in a strongly worded opinion, the California Court of Appeal agreed with what a unanimous jury found: AEG was in no way responsible for the tragic death of Michael Jackson.”

Katherine Jackson lost her bid, and it appears she won’t have any more chances to go after AEG.

The court said of Katherine Jackson’s case, “We agree with the trial court that Dr. Murray was an independent contractor as a matter of law.”

The court added, “The evidence fails to establish a triable issue that AEG had the right to control the manner and means of Dr. Murray’s treatment of Michael. AEG never instructed Dr. Murray on how to treat Michael, and no evidence was presented that AEG had the right to control Dr. Murray’s treatment of Michael.”

Katherine Jackson’s son, Michael Jackson, died on June 25, 2009, at age 50 after a lethal dose of propofol was administered by Dr. Conrad Murray to help him sleep.

He was in the middle of rehearsing for a series of concerts in London called “This Is It.”

What do you think of the court’s decision against Katherine Jackson’s appeal of the jury’s decision on AEG Live’s responsibility? Do you think they held any fault for what happened to Michael Jackson?
