Actor producer David Faustino has already set his eyes on the revamp of another American sitcom Married… with Children, with Katey Sagal and Ed O’Neill returning as the defunct man and wife of the family.

“Sony has it. They’re excited about it. They’re working out some legal issues that we hope work out,” said Faustino at the Vacation premiere of his former Married… with Children co-star, Christina Applegate.

Despite their current projects, the original cast were eager to reprise their roles.

“The whole cast, including Christina, is down to do little bits in it,” he added.

“All of us have said we would all be there for [David],” said the excited Applegate, who played the “dumb blonde” Kelly Bundy in the series.

The 90’s sitcom features the Bundys, a dysfunctional family living in the Chicago suburbs. Sagal and O’neill played the parent Bundys, while Faustino acted as their second child Bud Bundy.

This new series will be centered around Bud Bundy, seeing that Sagal is currently committed to the FX series The Bastard Executioner. O’neill also has his hands full starring in the award-winning ABC sitcom  Modern Family.

The original sitcom that ran for 11 seasons from ‘87 to ’97 was the first primetime TV series featured on Fox. The show ran on the humor of a typical family with stereotypical characters with O’neill as Al bundy, the once celebrated high-school jock turned to a measly shoe salesman who can’t stand his lazy obnoxious wife, Peggy Bundy played by Sagal.

The direction of this remake is still in the dark as Faustino’s representative has yet to respond to related questions.
