Kate Hudson has been engaged to Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy for three years, and she says they aren't in any hurry to get to the big day. The couple have a child together, but Hudson said in a recent interview with Women's Health Magazine that she's happy to have something to work towards.
"It's a long engagement. I think the best part is that knowing you're working towards the idea of a commitment that is hopefully as long of a stretch as you can pull it, and forever seems beautiful," she said, according to Hello! Magazine. "I look forward to the wedding day because when that happens, to me, marriage what I really love about it is bringing the families together, and the kids."
Hudson has every reason to be nonchalant when it comes to signing that piece of paper; her mom, Goldie Hawn, has been with Kurt Russell for over 30 years without walking down the aisle. She recently talked to Jimmy Fallon about her family, including her famous parents.
The 35-year old actress also talked about how difficult it can be to preserve a long-distance relationship when the couple has to spend time apart, as they often do with their busy schedules.
“We try not to spend more than two weeks apart. When you have kids it kind of goes without saying. You don’t want to be away from your kids for more than two weeks. And we travel together… We are lucky to not have to do the real long distance thing," she said.
