  • She certainly looks like a glamorous movie star who can just buy whatever she wants. And she comes from Hollywood royalty. Her mother is actress Goldie Hawn, and she was raised around Hawn’s long time partner Kurt Russell. However, Kate Hudson wants you to know something. In a recent interview for the December-January issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the 34-year-old beautifully blonde actress, made a confession. “People think we own all these dresses but we borrow them. I can’t afford to buy that stuff. There are certain things I splurge on, but it’s very rare, especially when you have two kids and school tuition. I’m not a big high-end shopper.”

Yes, it’s true, even A-List film stars can’t always wear Valentino and deck themselves out with solid gold. The Almost Famous Academy Award nominated actress claims that she wasn’t raised in lavishness, despite the film success of her family. “My mom wasn’t a big shopper for us. I think they wanted to instill that in us even though we grew up in a really privileged and lucky lifestyle.”

As for raising her own two kids, Ryder (nine years old) and Bing (two years old), Hudson claims that she can’t even bring herself to buy Ryder a cellphone. “I see his friends texting people, and I just can’t do it. The first device I got was a pager.”

Don’t fret, because Hudson is doing just fine. She looks so amazing in fact that she is on the cover of Bazaar’s Best-Dressed issue. Here’s a tweet from photographer Alexi Lubomirski:

Hudson currently has two films in post-production, Wish I Was Here which was directed by Zach Braff and Good People which stars James Franco. Both movies are currently slated for a 2014 release.
