  • Recently, headlines started blaring that the child custody battle between Kate Gosselin and her ex-husband Jon was heating back up again. For those of you who thought that this battle was long over, especially after seeing TLC running a show called Kate Plus 8, this latest development may bear some explaining.

Ever since Jon Gosselin and Kate split, things have reportedly been acrimonious. In the end, Kate got to keep the kids, went on to do a modified TLC series without Jon, and has become a tabloid headline maven.

Early on in the proceedings, Jon was going to be on the hook for child support. But with Kate having primary custody and Jon getting only visitation, the TV show and money went to her.

TLC eventually dropped Kate Plus 8, but there have since been specials featuring Kate and the kids. As for Jon, he has reportedly ended up waiting tables and serving as a maitre d’ in restaurants.

But recently, sources for Life & Style report that Kate has refused to allow Jon visitation time with the kids, which violates the divorce decree between them.

According to an unnamed source for Life & Style, “[Jon] would love to take her to court and get total custody of his kids. He doesn’t want them on TV and doesn’t want Kate’s influence on them. He’ll do whatever it takes.”

“Jon feels bad for them. It’s not a normal childhood,” the source explains, adding that, “They love spending time with Jon and wish they could see him more.”

But does Jon have the financial resources to fight a renewed custody battle with Kate?

“Kate knows Jon doesn’t have the finances to fight it, so she just does whatever she wants,” the unnamed source said.
