  • Julianne Hough made a name for herself as one of the most eye-catching dancers on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Now Hough might be returning to the show that made her famous – this time as a judge.

According to a TMZ report, Hough is in talks with the show’s producers to become Dancing with the Stars‘ fourth judge. TMZ’s unnamed “sources connected with the show” report that Hough and series producers are currently negotiating the details of the deal and are “expected” to iron out a contract soon.

Dancing with the Stars pairs celebrities and athletes with professional dancers and pits them against one another in a weekly ballroom dancing competition. Celebrities are eliminated weekly through an American Idol-style vote by judges and fans. The most recent season of the show included celebrities such as Drew Carey, Danica McKellar, James Maslow, Meryl Davis, and Billy Dee Williams.

Hough has already appeared as a judge on Dancing with the Stars, sitting in for judge Len Goodman on one of last year’s shows. To many Dancing with the Stars fans this proves that the young dancer is already qualified to judge this fall’s dancing celebrities.

Since Hough’s big break on Dancing with the Stars the dancer has gone on to establish herself as an actress. Though her first on-screen appearance was as an extra in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, since leaving Dancing with the Stars Hough has appeared in movies such as Burlesque, Rock of Ages, and the 2011 Footloose remake. She is currently set to star in an upcoming movie titled Curve.

In addition to her acting career, Hough is also a country-western singer. She released a self-titled album in 2008, for which she was nominated as the year’s Top New Female vocalist by the Academy of Country Music. The album included the song “That Song in My Head,” which rose to 18th place on the U.S. country music charts. Hough also sang on the soundtrack for Rock of Ages.
