Julianne Hough Apologizes for Halloween Costume

Julianne Hough has issued an apology, via Twitter, for her controversial costume that she wore on Friday night.

She dressed as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren, who is played by actress, Uzo Aduba, from one of Netflix’s most popular television series, “Orange is The New Black”. Her costume was complete with dark face make-up, which is what started the controversy.

Hough and a group of friends decided to dress up as their favorite characters from “Orange is the New Black”, and Hough said she never meant to be disrespectful to anyone.

“I am a huge fan of the show Orange is the New black, actress Uzo Aduba, and the character she has created. It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize,” she wrote on Twitter.
