Jimmy Fallon forces yet another weird game on his glamorous celebrity guests. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Julia Roberts was hit in the face with an inflatable ball, much to the delight of her fans tuning in as well as the live studio audience.

Roberts made a guest appearance on the show and was asked by Fallon to join a game called “Faceballs,” where each person is hit in the face with a clear inflatable ball and video of it is played back in slow motion HD. She was game to do it and enjoyed watching the playback of her and Fallon’s faces being squashed by the balls.

Roberts looked stunning on the show wearing a short-sleeved black blouse, black tailored shorts, and black platform booties. She wore her blonde hair loose and long and readily gave belly laughs at Fallon’s antics on the show. Despite the face-smashing she received in the Faceballs game, she had no qualms about it ruining her good looks.

At first, Roberts and Fallon took tentative shots with the inflatables at each other’s faces, but by the second round, the gloves were off with the use of a bigger ball. Roberts let it loose on Fallon’s face, his nose crumpling on impact, and he vowed to take his revenge. On the last throw of the game, he threw the ball hard at Roberts’ face, producing a hilarious slow motion video that showed the ball contorting her nose and lips. Both Roberts and Fallon cracked up over the repeated playback of the video, the highlights of which included Roberts’ upper lip sticking to the plastic ball as it bounced off her face.

Even with the ridiculousness of the Faceballs game, Roberts thoroughly enjoyed playing it, joking that it was “the comedy version of Fifty Shades of Grey.”
