Judge Judy and CBS came to an agreement regarding the popular judge's contract. The Judge Judy Show will remain on CBS throughout the year 2020.

Judge Judy Sheindlin had three seasons remaining under her existing contract with CBS, through which she raked in more than $47 million per year. She is no doubt making even more since signing on through 2020.

"I’m thrilled to be working with my CBS family for five more years, and very excited about this new adventure in production,” Sheindlin said. “I loved the experience of creating and developing ‘Hot Bench’ and look forward to replicating its success with more new, compelling and smart TV.”

Judge Judy is a 'cash cow' for CBS, so even with an increased salary, the network stands to make big bucks from the 72-year-old. It's hard to believe Judge Judy will be nearly 80 at the end of this contract.

“We could not be more excited to continue our longtime relationship with Judy,” CBS Global Distribution Group president Armando Nunez said. “She is a true television icon, who entertains and inspires millions of fans each day. We look forward to continuing to provide our station partners with her highly successful show and to working with her to create the next generation of hits.”

Under this new contract, Judith Sheindlin, who serves as producer for a new 'judge' show called Hot Bench, has agreed to give CBS a first look at anything she produces.

Judge Judy is presently in its 19th season on the air, and has been the top daytime TV show for the past five years. During the week ending February 15th, for example, The Judge Judy Show was seen by an average of 10.1 million viewers during each episode.

Are you surprised to learn that Judge Judy Sheindlin is sticking around on CBS until the year 2020? Do you think her popularity will hold out as long as her contract?
