If you thought a primetime special about Judge Judy is what’s been missing from your evening line up, you’re in luck. CBS will air Judge Judy Primetime on May 20 at 8 p.m.

The one-hour program will feature new cases and explore how Judge Judith Sheindlin went from a New York Family Court judge to the Judge Judy star who graces the television screens of millions each day.

The special will also air clips from the 1993 60 Minutes segment that led to Sheindlin being discovered by Hollywood, in addition to the judge’s popularity on the late night circuit.

Sheindlin’s “Judyisms” were the focus of parodies on shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Saturday Night Live. The program will feature clips of the comedians speaking the one-liners.

Here are some of the judge’s best:

The Judge Judy daily daytime series has been the top show in first-run syndicate for the last three years, and No. 1 in daytime for four straight seasons. The show has also been the top courtroom program in the United States since its debut in 1996 and is licensed in more than 125 markets.

Watch the no-nonsense judge in action:

Isn’t that special?

Love love love Judge Judy Always ask myself when I have a troubling situation…What would Judge Judy do ??

    • Jen623

That’s odd, when I have a troubling situation I always ask What would the Judge of ALL of us do??

      • Tiassopinkmommy

        Stop reading too deep

  • funny guy

would pay to see her on Dancing With the stars!

  • Pat Nelson

    Judge Judy rocks!!

  • JustMyThoughts

Can’t stand her! She is mean, sarcastic and makes unfair snap judgments. She also gets into things that are not her business. I guess some people find that entertaining.

    • Ryan Clark

Its an intimidation tactic. It allows the intimidator to EASILY pick up whether somebody is lying, being truthful, or telling the facts. Its not a judge’s job to be nice, its their job to determine the events that occurred and give a just resolution.

  • Jen623

Oh no. She is a total witch alot of the time. She never lets anybody finish what they have to say which is their right. She knows she’s on TV and has to of course, put on a show.

  • mg

Judge Judy is a rude, nasty, disgusting person that should not be allowed on TV at any time of day or night. She seems to always have something better to do with her time, then to listen to the people that are suing each other!

  • Bernie

The best part of my everyday is watching Judge Judy–She is just and fair and often times very comical. She knows the law–yes she is smart and very beautiful. I love her and the show.

    • tom

Bernie. beautiful? go get some glasses bro

  • roshanna

Judge Judy has to be rude. Haven’t you witnessed some of the jokes she’s been “graced with”? Multiples of live in lovers, deadbeat fathers, unscrupulous businessmen and ethnic folk who can’t speak English or rather can but don’t want to because they like sounding lazy in their speech as well. Oh puhleese give Judge Judy a break. (misspelling intentional)

  • Priscilla Schmidt

I do not like her at all. She makes everyone out to be stupid.

  • Tiassopinkmommy

I love Judge Judy she is so funny shes the only person I don’t get mad at for yelling at people. LoL. I try and make sure I catch her show everyday at 4 and 4:30.

  • Guest

i think she is no more then a poor actress,, insult to the court system,,she is suppose to be in a court room, not a comedy club,, maybe we should all take a look at her back ground umm I did, no angel by any means

  • mcglynn

never miss her-no matter what I am doing- I STOP to watch her program. One of the best on TV.

  • Ray Forrest

you either love her or hate her but above all its just a television show for entertainment purposes.

  • Quantez Williams

I tape this show 5 days a week.
