Jon Gosselin Complains About Kids Being on TODAY

Jon Gosselin just can't seem to stay out of the headlines lately. Last month, he made the news for blasting ex-wife Kate Gosselin and the month before that, Gosselin was in the news for saying his kids had developmental problems. Another month brings us yet another Jon Gosselin issue, and this time he's upset over his two thirteen-year-old daughters being on TODAY.

Gosselin's daughters appeared on TODAY with Kate on Thursday and both girls clammed up during the interview. When twins Cara and Mady were asked about growing up in the spotlight, both girl only replied with "Um..." and couldn't come up with an answer, despite Kate's prodding.

After a few failed attempts at getting the girls to talk, Mady finally spoke up and said, “A lot of people think that filming our show has damaged us. But it’s only really helped.” Jon Gosselin is known for talking about how the show has hurt his children, something Kate (and now the twins) say isn't true. After the show was over, Kate posted on Twitter to explain why the girls were so quiet and said that it was due to the appearance being their first live interview.

Just hours after the TODAY episode aired, Gosselin did an interview with TMZ to discuss his perception of the interview.

"I felt upset. I was laying there with Liz [Jannetta] and we were like, 'Say something girls. Come on! Just say something. Anything.' And they didn't say anything and we were like, 'Ugh, this is horrible,'" the dad said. "Then I felt really bad. I mean, I didn't care too much for Kate or whatever, but I felt really bad for Mady and Cara because I love them and they're just put in this situation. It was like deer in the headlights."

Gosselin also feels like Cara and Mady's appearance on the show backs up his belief that Kate is using their children to stay in the spotlight. "It just kind of proves my point of Kate bringing the kids out instead of her just sort of doing it herself," he explained. "It all blew up in everyone's face and I feel horrible for my children because now they're going to have to deal with the public."

Even though Gosselin feels strongly about the interview, he said he didn't say anything about it to his girls and just offered his support. "I just texted Mady and Cara today and said, 'You guys looked great and I love you and have a good day in New York,'" Gosselin said. "I didn't really talk about it. I'm just here to offer them support and be their father." Unfortunately for Gosselin, his daughters will probably hear about his TMZ interview and find out what he really thinks.
