Joan Rivers is still in serious condition after experiencing complications during a routine throat surgery. She allegedly stopped breathing during the surgery and had to be rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Joan was put into a medically induced coma and is still unconscious, according to ABC News.
Joan's daughter, Melissa, rushed to her mother’s side and released a statement about her condition saying,
"I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers."
Joan's family is hoping that she will pull through if or when they decide to take her off of life support.
Several of Joan's close friends and colleagues have offered their support on Twitter and other social networks.

Joan Rivers is known for her sense of humor and has been accused of being mean at times. In spite of the criticism she receives for her jokes, she has a huge fan following and refuses to apologize for any of her material that others may find offensive.
Her friends and family members seem to think that she is a very strong woman who will pull through and soon be back on TV criticizing the fashion choices and lifestyle of others.
