Jill Duggar, one of the stars of the hit TLC reality show 19 Kids And Counting, made headlines this week with her engagement to Derick Dillard, whom she only just met face-to-face recently; the couple became acquainted through Jill’s dad, Jim Bob, after he and Dillard met on a missionary trip in Nepal.

“I was impressed with him as I got to know him over the years,” Jim Bob said. “He sounded like an amazing young man. I felt like from the beginning they had similar personalities and goals. I thought they would hit it off.”

The couple have been in a “courtship” for several months, speaking via Skype and texting one another, and when Jill made the trip to Nepal to meet Derick this week, the two confirmed what they’d already known; they want to be together forever. Now, after their engagement has been made official, Duggar matriarch Michelle says she would gladly welcome baby number 20.

“I realize that I don’t have those tiny little babies in my home anymore. We would welcome another baby if God saw fit to give us another one,” she said.

The youngest Duggar child, Josie, was born in 2009 and had serious health issues as an infant. She has since become a strong and healthy little girl, but the stress took a toll on the family at the time. Now, Michelle says she’s enjoying time with her grandchildren but has made it clear that she would love to have one more little one of her own.

As for Jill, she says she fell in love with Derick very quickly after getting to know him.

“We got to know each other in the first few months pretty quickly. I was in love with someone I had never met in person, but we really knew each other well,” she said.

The couple’s first meeting was captured on camera for the reality show, and Jill’s excited first moments left fans gushing on Twitter about the episode.

“I’m like, ‘Oh my goodness, this could very well be my future husband. This could be the one!” Jill said. She later recounted the meeting, saying Derick brought her a gift.

“He was so sweet! He greeted me with flowers and yeah, it was crazy because I had been preparing for this moment. Everything just went really smoothly. [A] perfect moment.”

I think it is wonderful that the girls courted. I think we all would do well to do this. blessing on the girls new boo.

    • Ennaxor

Courted? Via skype. Is that really courtship?

      • katie5280

Courting did not begin until they met.

      • cat lanners

not a courtship in my world

  • CerealGirl

Baby addiction is a real thing. I’m thankful that God has given us doctors and medicine to help us limit the number of children we have. If we were truly meant to have as many children as we can, birth control would not exist!

    • kidrobotgirl

Traditionally people had many babies as possible was because the before the introduction of of vaccines, most children perished before seeing their 5th birthday. If vaccines weren’t created, a number of us would probably not be here.

      • CerealGirl

Yes, years ago this was true. It isn’t necessary for Americans at the present time. This woman loves the spike in hormones and the presence of newborn children. Justify it any way you want to, she needs therapy.

        • ashley

She needs to stop having kids. I like the Duggars and their show but seriously you think she would stop wanting to have children after what happened with her last two. Josie was born so early that they didn’t think she would make it and her last one she miscarried. She is getting to old to have kids also why is she willing to put her life on the line to have another kid she has 19 and they are all going to have kids of their own so they are going to have a ton of grandkids. Not like she won’t have babies around

          • katie5280

            It’s part of their religion.

          • Noelle

its part of their cult too the girls will be baby machines like their wacky mother

          • Lisette

and of what cult do you speak? Their lifestyle is theirs not yours or anyone elses! None of these kids look afraid or abused that I can observe, & the ones that are of legal age can leave anytime they want. Believe me, there are much worse fates kids out there

          • Independent Thinker

The Duggars are followers is Bill Gothard.

          • Becky

i saw an episode where the one girl expressed wanting to move to the city. The sisters were saying to here that she needs to be happy where she is. They cannot leave anytime they want. They always have to have a chaperone, even if it’s for work. They put themselves on tv to be judged and we all have an opinion cause we are able to think for ourselves.

          • Lisa

Even they boys are to be chaperoned at all times. When John-David joined the local Fire Dept. he needed to be chaperoned so Jana and Jill joined up too. It’s not how it appears on TV.

          • Lisa

Joseph showed signs of rebellion and he was shipped off to the ALERT Academy which is nothing more than a re-education camp.

          • mamabear1966

I agree, it’s a cult. Every ‘religion’ is a cult. Anything that tries to brainwash you into thinking and living ‘their’ way is a cult. Live your own life and do the right thing because it’s the right thing to do, not because you want to build on your ‘heavenly bank account’.

          • Lisette

            totally HER decision!

          • Judy Goodwin Truex

            She was an even 20.

        • katie5280

You have no way of knowing what “this woman loves:. They belong to a religion that doesn’t believe in birth control. It’s their religion. The family is a quiver and each child is an arrow sent to the world to spread the message of Christ.

          • CerealGirl

I guess I believe in quality over quantity.

          • Lisette

now that is totally inappropriate when applied to a human being!

          • Lisette

            agree

        • Lisette

Uh, maybe its you who needs the therapy to learn to stay out of other folks business! If they support them & love them what should it matter to you how many they have?

          • Independent Thinker

Jubilee that’s why. Michelle kept having babies knowing the risks of having kids in your late 40’s. Her irresponsibility is why not all of her babies made it to term.

          • Michiel

Besides having kids with birth defects , her body must be wrecked . Her bladder probably has to be held in place with stitches and pads after so many babies … not to mention the stretch marks , stretched boobs and so overstretched vag muscles . I actually pity her for dedicating herself to being a baby making machine for life . Talk about opportunities lost !

          • mine

Wow. Mr. “Independent Thinker”. That’s ironic, because I “pity” you for thinking that life is only about how taut and firm your boobs and stomach are. Do you have children? Let’s talk about opportunities lost when you’re alone in a nursing home hitting on the nurses. She has dedicated herself to her children and family, period. They are completely happy and happy not to mention self-sufficient and debt-free. How many can say the same about themselves?

          • Lyn

We don’t know what they are or aren’t…except willing to pimp themselves out (like many other tv programs of the day).

There are thousands of babies that need homes…being a baby factory…geez….they seem obsessed. Now, on to more pressing issues in our society that deserve as much feedback as we all have posted here.

I wonder if you are as interested in child slavey in the USA?
Or, maybe our govt’s failure to protect children from abuse???? Holding those responsible for their harm?

            Over-population????

The dungars or whatever their name is irritate!

          • Lisette

Child slavery in the USA please confirm

          • Michiel

Actually , yes I do . But I have more sense than to condemn my wife to a life of being barefoot and pregnant and breast feeding . As a result she is following her career choice, as our children are grown up and we travel the world . See the profile pic … That is Alaska where we went in March 2013 . No man has the right to turn am woman into his personal incubator for life . And yes , due to common sense , my wife still has a great figure which she is proud of and I love . We had two children and then stopped by choice . Not continued breeding because we are scared to be in a nursing home alone chasing nurses as you so put it . One should not have children to look after you in your old age and if you have children , you will find out that they are independent humans and have their own lives to lead . Not be your slave because you conceived them

          • Lisette

            Breeding? Slaves?

          • Michiel

Precisely . Some people have children not for the pleasure of having a happy family , but to ensure that they are supported in their old age and literally breed for that purpose . The more children , the greater your prospects of living in comfort in your old age . England and South Africa are good examples where both nations pay women to have babies . It eventually is more profitable to have babies and stay at home living on government hand outs than to go and actually work . Case at hand is the president of South Africa who has 7 or 8 wives and about 20 children . The fact is that people have to understand that those children will have children in equal quantities and with earths already stretched resources , it is only a matter of time before man self destruct s through starvation or thirst .

          • CerealGirl

They are on a reality tv show. If they truly cared about their family and differing opinions, they would remain private. They can do whatever they want and I am free to agree/disagree.

          • Lisa

Agreed. When they go on television to perpetrate a fraud on the world as to their religious beliefs, the world has a right to know. The teachings of Bill Gothard are extremely dangerous and damaging. Ironically, he doesn’t live by his own teachings.

          • mamabear1966

When they put themselves out there for the world to watch and judge, then it’s EVERYONE’S business!

      • Kathi J

Mainly they had them because there were few effective methods of contraception. Most normal women do not want 10-15 (or more kids).

    • Debra Baker

      so right

  • Jimmy Jim Dandy

Would someone please tell Michelle Duggar it is a vagina not a clown car.

    • Lily

like we haven’t heard THAT one before…

    • joshuaosborne

Too Late!!! She has drank the Kool-Aid a long time ago and now will do whatever his crazy religion tells her to

      • katie5280

It’s her religion, too. She knew what he was when she married him,

    • Lisette

Why don’t you do that Jim Dandy? LOL

  • Eric

Complete social irresponsibility to have this many kids. They can’t even pay for them all. They rely on handouts from the community. It must be impossible to give each child the attention they need to develop…..poor kids

    • MissJoy

Not into the mass breeding either, however, Mr. Duggar is actually an author and r.e agent. He is one of the few families on tv not relying on the royalties or community hand outs.

      • tired

there is no way that man could make enough to support THAT many children. I agree with earlier comments, the older siblings, NOT MOM, raise the younger ones. While I agree its good training some of the time, to put one’s baby in the hands of older children ALL the time is not natural…its irresponsible. No wonder mom can home school all the kids, that is all she is responsible for in her own home.

        • Crafty45

Dear Tired: .. I really hope that Mamma Duggar is NOT Responsible for teaching Geography or History to those kids. . During an interview, she was asked about having so MANY KIDS, (due to the fact that the World is so OVER POPULATED) …………………. and, she was crazy enough to say: “Oh, the World isn’t Over Populated at All – all the people in the World could fit into a City the size of (and she names some Town in Florida) Is she KIDDING?

          • Debra Baker

            idiots

          • mamabear1966

But they really could, if they were stacked on top of each other, or cremated, or chopped up in a blender…..LOL!

          • Lisa

I thought it was Jim Bob who said that. We also see the results of Michelle teaching her kids grammar. Fail!

        • Lisette

I guess you do not realize how much money they actually make

          • Lisa

            Neither do you.

      • Lisette

agree, I don’t think they take handouts because they usually are invol ed in some type of giving

      • Lisa

The Duggars are very dependent on their TLC income. They are not wasteful people and know how to stretch a dollar, but the books were only a recent thing and the family’s monthly food budget alone requires a bigger income than the Arkansas real estate market would provide.

    • Zazu22

While I would not make the same choices they have and was initially put off by this family, they do take care of their own, are financially responsible, and do solid humanitarian work. I live in the hood and see so many people making children and the taxpayers are supporting the whole family, often for the rest of their lives. Their children seem very well adjusted and they are productive members of society. Can’t say that about everyone.

      • wla

He claims his house is a parsonage to avoid real estate taxes.

        • katie5280

I have heard that before, although I’ve never seen any documentation. They hold church services there, house missionaries, hold church dinners so maybe they qualify.

        • Jody

A “parsonage”??? So, he’s a tax cheat, in other words. Wonderful…

          • katie5280

Jody, you have just declared him a cheat when no one knows if his house is tax free or not. Typical of these boards, low information becomes ‘truth’ with no one knowing the source of the info. I don’t know if he qualifies. He was a state senator so I would think that he would go out of his way to stay clean. But maybe not. Unless someone posts a site where we can see it he’s innocent until proven guilty.

          • Lisette

you are sooo right, lots of accusations but no proof!

          • Lisette

            man, are you gullible

          • Lisa

It’s not illegal so it’s not cheating.

        • Lisette

          hahaha

        • mamabear1966

I seriously don’t have a problem with that one at all. If I could claim my house as a church, and start a religion just to avoid being bilked over and over by the government, who wastes our taxes anyways, I’d do it too.

      • Lisette

        agree!

    • Kimberly

If you were following the Duggar’s, you would know that they are completely debt free. They do not rely on handouts or the government. Even though I think she is too old to have anymore children, who are we to say she has too many kids. It is known of our business how many children someone has!

      • Lisette

        very well said!

      • Independent Thinker

They were only debt free because they lived rent free for two years in the home featured in the first episode. That house was owned by a local church.

      • Gul Bahar

i agree. it is their choice how many kids they want. they were debt free before the show but they do make good money from each episode. and i feel sorry for michelle. she probably feels empty, this has been the longest she hasnt been pregnant. she has been pregnant back to back from 1988-2011. all she has known for 23 years is to get pregnant. poor girl

      • Gul Bahar

and its crazy to think . if each of their children have 5 kids. they will have 95 grandkids. and you know each child will have more than 5 kids. they are going to have over 200 grandkids. michelle and jim bob will be in their 60s, and wont remember all of their grandkids names

        • jadenhunter

If the Dugger children have an average of 10 kids each there will be 190 grandchildren. If that trend continues to the next generation there will be around 1,900 great-grandchildren, 19,000 great-great-grandchildren. All those Duggers in the world in only five generations (counting JimBob and Michelle).

    • Deb

I respect the Duggars for living their faith even when they get slammed repeatedly by people who have no idea who they are & the values they live by. If everyone believed in living debt free and morally responsible the world would be a better place.

    • katie5280

They could always pay for them, and now the show is a big boost.

    • rowdygirl726

Obviously you have never watched the show or even now what you’re talking about. They’re completely debt free and self sufficient, and they’ve been that way before they ever HAD a tv show.

    • Lisette

Are you just stupid or simply ignorant? The Duggars were into real estate before they ever had any children & are supported by their holdings as well as the money the show brings in I am sure! Please get your facts right before posting such falsehoods!

      • Independent Thinker

You have no idea what you are talking about. They lived rent free for two years in the home featured in the first episode because a local church was letting them live there. The current home they live in had been under construction for THREE years until TLC paid to finish the house. They had real estate licenses but did not have the assets you are claiming.

        • Lisette

Where is your proof that this is a fact? OR please give me a link to the site & I will look myself?

          • Independent Thinker

You apparently didn’t watch the first episode or the episode where TLC rolled up with trucks full of free stuff. That was all on the show. Jim Bob in the 14 Kids and Counting Show says the house isn’t own by them. As for the real estate license information that is from their first book. Buy the book The Duggars 20 and Counting and the first season of the show off Amazon if you need proof.

          • Lisette

Here is a tidbit, whatcha think?
As a family project the Duggars built a 7000 sq. ft. home debt free! Both Jim Bob and Michelle are licensed real estate agents. They often host and facilitate the Jim Sammon’s Financial Freedom Seminar. Jim Bob served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999 to 2003 and was a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 2002.

    • responsible

They were debt free before they had the show. Are you debt free? I am and choose to have only 1 child so I can be home with my child and live a debt free life, if I could have 19 and still live debt free I would. There are people who have 1 child and can not give them the attention they need. Maybe judge “Teen Mom” before judging the Duggars, at least they are adults and choose to create their children rather than have an “opps” on prom night.,

  • Authentic

    Sick people

  • Ennaxor

Way too many Duggars already. Please no more. Your genes are just not that special that we need that many of you. If my daughter ‘fell in love’ thru a skyped relationship then I would know that I had failed as a parent.

    • MissJoy

What about a facebook relationships? Relax, most people’s genes aren’t that special.

      • Ennaxor

All social media relationships are superficial at best. She wants out of that house apparently. Can’t blame her.

        • MissJoy

I mean I guess..? Maybe to men online is a big game room, that’s why you hear about all the cheating on dating sites, facebook cheaters and porn addiction, but I really do not think it applies to this situation. But, this is not my family, so I am only commenting from what TV has produced. I think Beyonce and Jay Z have a more “superficial” couple status than these kids. Even if she wanted out, after seeing the inside of their home- I’d never effin move out! lol.

    • Deb

I met my fiance online, and while neither of us was looking for love it has a way of finding you when you least expect it. Keep your heart open and love may just walk in. I pray that my daughter finds the happiness I have no matter where she finds love.

      • Ennaxor

The problem is not meeting someone thru social media. That is obvious. The problem is committing to marriage to a guy you have know for a few months and ‘dated’ via skype, That is desperation from my viewpoint. Parents=fail

        • katie5280

There are different facets to relationships. How many of us share in depth our faith, interpretation of the Bible and how to make that the center of our marriage? Not many, it doesn’t matter to a lot of people. But it’s number 1 to them and it’s solid. People can date and get married without ever coming to terms about what their joint purpose is.

          • Ennaxor

She is settling for a man she barely knows because he supposedly is of the same faith and the same depth of faith. Again, she doesn’t really know that, how could she via skype? lol. Big Fail.

          • not your life

Sounds like your a pro at failure. Since you seem to know all about it.

          • Ennaxor

I am sure most parents of a 22 year old girl who decided to marry a boy after 3 months of skyping would be happy and proud. I must be the odd one out.

          • Kathi J

Remember Daddy Duggar met him in person before she started skyping with him and he approves.

          • Ennaxor

            So what.

          • not your life

            Must be.

          • Sheri

Yes, I’m with you. It’s the first guy she’s ever been on a date with. Because they don’t “date”. They get together with the only intention being getting married and call it courting.

          • Lisette

I think there has to be more to the relationship than we know, after all they are not on the television 24 hrs a day so they might have known each other for a while. This is not unlike cyber dating that goes on all the time! Their ‘courtship’ will be short & sweet, hopefully the marriage will last!

        • Sheri

          It’s an arranged marriage.

    • Lisette

Never say never life has a way of making you eat your words! Anyway, you are not the one popping them out or feeding them so please chill

  • lay off

I think Michelle needs to stop having babies, and give her children a chance
to give her grandchildren. She had problems with the last two children.
If her husband really cared about her health he would lay off.

    • Judy Jackson

Michelle LOVES the sex & LOVES being pregnant, the actual being a mom part, not so much. She has NO real relationship with any of her children. Once a baby is weaned, it is passed off to one of the older girls to raise.

      • Lisette

Please tell us how you know this, have you actually lived with the Duggar family & know all their little secrets?

        • Sheri

Lisette, Michelle has said many times on the show that after one year the latest infant goes to a “helper” (one of the older girls), then she gets knocked up again. Or did.

    • Lisette

why must you blame the husband? Obviously, this is a mutual decision

  • MissJoy

Their lifestyle is very, very different from what has become the American norm regarding family life. But, the way I see things, none of these kids have a criminal record. None of them popped out any kids before they were done being kids. And last time I checked, falling in love online is totally normal= OkCupid, Facebook, let’s not forget the Ashely Madison site- for already ‘married’ who take marriage oh so serious, bla bla bla.
Come to think of it, their lives seem a little more stable, at least from the outside looking in.

    • Zazu22

I agree, MissJoy. I thought it was gross when this show started, but I’ve earned a level or respect for this family as they are upstanding solid citizens. That’s what counts. I’m not into the rigid religious outlook, but if it works for them and makes them the best they can be, have at it.

      • MissJoy

Well said. I wish everyone wasn’t out for blood all the time, ya know!

    • Lay off

MissJoy you are so right!! All of these kids are upstanding citizens and are genuinely good kids and the parents are debt free!! Some parents now a days are not debt free with 2 kids! Everyone needs to stop being so judgmental.

      • MissJoy

Seriously. People want to point the finger, when in reality, these people who are having hatred spewed on them are doing better than the majority. I agree, stop the hate you miserable turds, lol.

  • divastei17

These people are so selfish and can’t even see it. I am fine with 5 or 6 kids per couple. However, 20 is an addiction and you are being selfish and ignorant to the fact that these two are in the 40s and won’t live long enough to see there younger children graduate college or get married thus forcing the older kids to take care of these children

    • kiwi777

Just because Michelle Duggar is not taking the cancer causing pill to prevent pregnancy does not make her selfish or crazy. You guys act like what ever she does greatly affects your families.

      • Independent Thinker

You do realize the pill in not the only way to prevent pregnancy. There is natural family planning (tracking fertility), condoms, IUDs and several other ways to prevent getting knocked up.

      • Lisette

Don’t you know it? These folks sound as tho they are supporting the whole clan when they probably should get off the web & clean the house or spend some time with their own kids or spouse!

        • Independent Thinker

When you posted that people should get off their computer and spend time with their kids it was 11 pm EST. Not much spending time with the kids is going to happen at 11 pm at night.

    • Judy Jackson

These kids won’t go to college so there won’t be any graduations to miss. The older kids are already taking care of the younger kids. Michelle loves being pregnant, the actual being a mom part of the equation, not so much.

    • Lisette

But then you don’t make the rules for other people’s lives

  • robert2727

Not to tell people how to run their lives, but her last pregnancy ended in a miscarriage and she’s older now. I don’t have any problems with this family but she should think about how it would affect her health if she becomes pregnant again.

    • Angela Marie Gendreau

I agree, being pregnant is a wonderful thing but the last two pregnancies put the child and herself in serious jeopardy. God works in mysterious ways and He, in my mind, was telling her in ‘language’ He felt that she would understand that she needs to stop. These folks will be near to past 70 when their youngest graduate college and maybe start a family. God already gave them a wonderful family, enough is enough. God also teaches us to appreciate what we have.

Be very careful when you think you know what God is telling someone else.

        • Angela Marie Gendreau

When I’ve heard similar things come out of her own mouth as to why she has that many kids in the first place it fits. Normally I would not make such bold statement..

      • kiwi777

So when a young mother has a miscarriage you think that’s God’s way of telling her to lay off? Studys show that everyone woman will experience a miscarriage at least once (so they say). Who are you say enough is enough? I would watch my comments if I were you because the judgment you pass will come back to you.

        • Noelle

it is when she lost 18th baby to miscarriage then had the 19th and that baby and Michelle almost died I think God is trying to tell her to stop

          • Kathi J

It’s not god – it’s mother nature and it’s time Michelle Duggar paid attention.

        • Angela Marie Gendreau

That is a totally different scenario. Mrs. Duggar already has 19 children. This isn’t her first. It’s like apples and oranges. My sister lost one a friend of mine did as well but they weren’t already parents of not one but 19 other children, some not even teenagers yet so yes I stand by my comments whether you agree with me or not. Her body is telling her that she can’t handle another one. Just as those two cases where, they both had underlying medical conditions that were not diagnosed. When the body can handle a baby and the baby develops the pregnancy is successful but if the fetus is unhealthy or the mother is, it won’t.
Judge me if you want but I feel she is being negligent as a parent to even consider it after what happened the last two times. What if she died, leaving her children without a mother, just because she wanted another baby at home? How would that make her children feel?

    • katie5280

Robert, I’m sure she has already thought about that.

  • Patricia Krause

is this woman trying to kill herself?? come on. She has had quite a few problems with the last few kids. Maybe its time to stop. God also gave you a brain to make smart choices. USE IT

  • Kayla Lynne Kroon

Wouldn’t it just be simpler to play with your grandchildren? With the number of kids she has, she should have an inexhaustable supply of grandkids.

  • 1fullsailkid .

    Gross……..

  • Britspanman

    This family is obscene.

  • balletlady

The Duggar children are raised in a very strict religious home where it seems as one or more of them have stated that they are taught to obey without questions it seems. They all dress exactly alike (although as of late I’ve noticed the girls skirts are slightly below the knee & not “prairie” length any more), the boys all have short hair, wear the same style shirt & pants, the girls wear the same type blouse & skirt, & all their hair is long. No on wears shorts, tee shirts, capri pants & there definitely is NO body piercing or tattoos allowed.
They are not allowed to go out on dates w/o parental chaperoning & even the Skype Jill did with Derek was parental monitored. They have no real privacy so how does one “get to know” her future husband since the parent is always around.
No hand holding, only side hugs, & no kissing until marriage. This girl is in for a HUGE shock on the wedding night.

  • Deborah Huckaby

I think they make a cute couple but they shouldn’t rush things. They need to spend a lot more time together before marriage is even discussed.

  • Deborah Huckaby

As far as another baby, Jim Bob and Michelle should focus on raising the kids they have and their present and future grandkids. You would think one baby almost dying and another that did would be a clear sign the baby making days need to stop.

  • guest

Michelle needs to let go of having another baby. This women needs to have someone depend on her and babies do that. I believe she is lost when she doesn’t have a baby to cling to her. Enjoy your adult and almost adult children and grandchildren and get on with life. Forget babies, they are for the young.

  • Leigh

When will this woman stop? When her uterus explodes?

    • katie5280

Nature is going to stop her sooner or later, although my mother-in-law was a menopause baby, her mom had her at age 53.

      • Sheri

        Oy.

  • Erica

Isnt she like 48 years old? I am sure she is in peri-menopause and needs to accept the fact that her 28 years of being constantly pregnant are done! She has a mental disorder.

    • kiwi777

Takes one to know one lol

    • Noelle

its like she is addiction to being pregnant she is a mental case

      • Independent Thinker

Pregnancy addiction is a form of OCD. It is very similar to hypochondriacs. Those people are addicted to the attention they receive from medical staff so the keep making up medical problems to feed their addiction to attention. I suspect Michelle Duggar falls in that category. If she gets pregnant she gets the attention she craves.

  • kiwi777

Beautiful family and I am sooo happy they are on T.V and are being the example America needs to see.

  • dangjin1

as much as i like their christian beliefs and dating behavior mrs. dugger has a problem and she needs help.

  • Alex

Most unfortunate addiction any woman can have…

  • Kathi J

Something is seriously wrong with Michelle Duggar if she does not feel like a complete person without an infant in her house.

  • Olga

When will Michelle finally get menopause?

    • Sheri

      Not soon enough!

  • Gul Bahar

Michelle, is 47 years old, 48 in September. She probably feels empty since this is the longest she has not been pregnant. she has been pregnant back to back from 1988-2009.

she needs to accept she might be too old to get pregnant again.

    • Carol Morgan

Sadly, she has displayed late fertility. She will probably have another five or six years of fertility.

  • JROC

    What kinda chicanery is this

  • Gul Bahar

it’s crazy to think . if each of their children have 5 kids. they
will have 95 grandkids. and you know each child will have more than 5
kids. they are going to have over 200 grandkids. michelle and jim
bob will be in their 60s, and wont remember all of their grandkids names. they are going to buy a lot of presents for birthdays, christmas lol

  • JROC

They do know it’s OK to f..k and not procreate right?

  • Judy Goodwin Truex

Michelle wants another baby? What is wrong with this woman? Why don’t she just pay more attention to her little one’s and let her grown children have the babies now. She wants all attention on her.

  • margaret

They seem like nice people and I believe they have nothing but good intentions, but Michelle endangers herself and her intended babies by conceiving at her age. That is just biology. If something were to happen to her, Jim Bob and the older kids would be stuck taking care of all those little ones by themselves. The family has plenty of money and room and goodwill, and at their age it would be better to open their house as a foster home to older children instead of conceiving infants who run the risk of miscarriage or being born with disabilities. There are plenty of unwanted kids out there being bounced around from foster home to foster home. If they really want to make a difference, maybe they should cast a wider net. Or, and I say this delicately, focus on being grateful for the kids they already have and spend their golden years focusing on those preexisting children and the grandchildren who will continue rolling in. Jim Bob and Michelle are nearly 50, I would guess; any babies they produce now will spend over half their lives without parents. They’ll be in their twenties when Michelle and Jim Bob are in their seventies. They’ll be having babies of their own that will never get to meet their grandparents, and it’s very hard to have kids when your parents are gone and you miss out on all their advice, love, support, and the fun of seeing them interact with your own kids. It might be time for Michelle to seek some help from a therapist in regards to why she never feels content with her life unless there is an infant around. It feels, to me as a viewer, like she is a kind and well-intentioned mother but she prefers children who are infants and once they’re up and running around she casts them off on an older sibling and starts looking to replace them with someone newer. Anyone can experience addiction, and that includes loving, caring, kind people of faith. Michelle Duggar is a great lady but she is addicted to constantly having a newborn to care for. When her babies reach their toddler years, a hole in her satisfied, harmonious life develops and isn’t satiated until she becomes pregnant again. This addiction has led to one child who almost didn’t make it and another child who didn’t make it. If she keeps going, she could end up damning a child to a life with severe disabilities, and her other kids to receiving less and less of her time and attention. Michelle likely won’t have a natural timing of menopause at the usual age because she hasn’t experienced as many periods in her lifetime, and therefore as many lost eggs. If she waits for her reproductive organs to force her to stop having babies, she is running a lot of risks. I want to feel happy for her and approve of what she does, but I can’t approve of the naivety and the disregard for health risks, and I’ve come to pity the Duggars more than root for them.

  • Carol

Michelle should get ready for menapause.

  • Linda

What has happen with the oldest daughter and her future partner? Does she have someone she is courting. I think she is very pretty so why has the Dad skip over her.

  • http://att.net/ patty

I can’t believe that Michelle Duggar is wanting God (?) to bless her with her 20th child. This woman and her husband are nut cases..Obviously over sexed. I hope that Jill and Dillard have a loving and happy life together. I think she has been brain washed by daddy and mommy and isn’t really able to think for herself. Hopefully it isn’t because Jim Bob loves Derick and chose him for Jill. I do hope she actually loves him and not wanting to please old daddy, Jim Bob.

  • NikL

Michelle Duggar has a serious problem. Her body has made it clear, twice, that it is done with having babies. I don’t know if she has a mental illness or is just selfish, but she should think of the kids she already has, instead of her own wants.

  • Mamaknows

Such an AMAIZING family! God Bless them.

  • Tbear62

Regardless of where your religious beliefs fall- or dont fall as it were- I think that everyone could be right on this one- you can take any religion, bible and context therein and you can interpret and wrap it around to your way of thinking and if someone doesn’t see your exact same bible the same way- they are as right about it as you are. I do personally believe this extends past religion. I know there are many that feel that pro-creating is “Gods will” or Gods way but given the other additives to this- the info from the show and whats been said by her- from her own lips. I would estimate she has an addiction problem and its having kids. The empty nest gets to her- or the empty womb as it were. She probably has a bit of attention reduction when she isn’t pregnant and that play havoc on the mind for those with an OCD type addiction. Sadly even IF she sought professional help you can bet it will be in the religious community in which she belongs and we know already nobody will find a thing wrong with her.

  • Tiara

come on people. It’s their business how many children they have or if they have religious reasons for wanting those many kids. If they were bums with no jobs whose kids amounted to nothing but overtaxing the country’s budget, I would be the first to object but as it happens all their kids are sweet, well behaved and accomplished. If they can be good parents to 20 kids, its a million times worth those who have one or two and make a mess of it. I think that she really needs to be careful though since late pregnancies aren’t really medically healthy.

    • RB

They make it every one’s business.

    • Sheri

Their kids are all exactly the same. Creepy little programmed Duggars.

  • Michiel

I reckon old man Duggar is a sex addict . Can this old bugger not stop breeding ? Talk about ensuring your family blood line survives ….

  • Bicycle Girl

This family is the scourge of our planet….needlessly overbreeding more parasites on our already grossly overpopulated Earth. How selfish and self-centered both Michele and Jim Bob are. We need to be PREVENTING MORE babies from being born by whatever means possible. Menopause cannot come soon enough for Michele. That’s the only way she’ll ever close her legs.

  • Gabrielle B

Were parents there every time she had a Skype call from him? You can see them sitting on the sofa while the girl is talking to the guy on her laptop! Why is it creeping me out? >,<

  • MidnightRoseXO

She “fell in love” with him because her daddy told her to. Michelle has a mental problem, and isn’t going to stop till she reaches that Magic 20 kids, even if it means having one that needs to be taken care of for its whole life. Then maybe she’ll be happy, she’ll have a “baby” for the rest of her life.

  • CLC

I feel like Michelle is very selfish. Does she not understand the risk THE CHILD could have? They both almost died, what’s it going to take to get her to understand the health risk to both are not worth the cost. This show makes me want to puke.

  • brenda

hhaahhaahhaa I thought she let God decide how many children they had….”trying” is not letting God. oh well. could care less… but get sick of seeing them whatever their brand or reasons are

  • joydb

Sounds like another episode of Bachelor. Another “made for TV” romance.

  • Brenda G

Are there any “J” names left?

  • mike

These people, need to be NEUTERED.

  • Jill Kennard

It really is sweet, and it seems that most of these young ladies do not have the same problems that so many of the young ladies in what most people think of as normal sosity have. If you talk to some one enough over skyp, or the phone or threw letters, you do get a fair start on getting to know them with out the hormones, and pressures of normal so called dating so yes I think it is sweet and I wish Someone courted me

  • ss

the vagina is NOT a clown car

  • pinkypoo

These people need to stop. I mean seriously, it is not solely up to you to populate the earth. Others will pick up the slack. You can stand down.

  • Ruth-ann

this lady is so damn selfish, instead of focusing on her daughter’s wedding and the kids she already have she is looking to get knocked up again, damn selfish.

  • mamabear1966

I only watch the show to see which kid is going to rebel against the brainwashing in this family and actually live their own lives. Nothing against religion or having lots of babies, but brainwashing their girls to believe that they can’t have a life of their own without a man in it is plain wrong, outdated and just creepy of the dad. Way to take your daughters back 100’s of years ago! Just because they are Christian doesn’t mean that their brand of brainwashing their girls isn’t just as bad, hurtful or harming as the Muslims or other ‘women have to have a man take care of them at all times’ cults. Sad, sad, and just plain creepy sad.

  • Crimson

I wish Jill would have a long engagement before marrying Derick. They do not “know” each other well enough to get married, but they want the freedom to get to know each other and the only way they can really do it is by getting married…..
    that’s a shame………..

    • Sheri

Yep, just like in the not so good old days.

  • Lisa

The author is mistaken when she writes that Jim Bob and Derrick had met on a missionary trip to Nepal. Jim Bob met Derrick for the first time when he traveled to Nepal with Jill. They only spoke long distance prior to this trip.

  • Maria Payan

IMO I don’t think she should have anymore kids but not because of her age. After 20 years of trying to have just ONE baby, I was finally able to get pregnant when I was 43. My husband and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary and our daughter is 3 years old. So just because someone is older doesn’t mean they can’t have a baby. But in the case of the Duggars… they already have 19 blessings and should be happy with that. After what happened with Josie and the miscarriage if I was Michelle I would be afraid to have anymore. But to some extend I think she does have issues about not being pregnant.

  • MDaddy

This guy should watch some porn and learn how to pull out in time

  • wanderlust

I think Michelle Duggar needs to get a puppy.

  • cat lanners

who’s paying for their home, trips ect? just curious as to how they afford all the things they do as a “Family”… their not a cult as of yet, they are a Sec, once they become a cult, you’ll see the state get involved and then my dears, they will be a cult. Wonder how many members deep they are. PROLAPSED UTERUS
