  • Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake are not going to just stand by and let a British tabloid spread nasty rumors.

Instead, the famous couple took legal action against the Heat Wednesday for publishing a story that they deemed a pack of lies.

Each filed a separate defamation suit with the High Court in Dublin.

“We have issued defamation proceedings [against Germany-based Bauer Media Group] on behalf of our clients, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, in relation to an article and a headline in [British tabloid] Heat magazine,” Paul Tweed, attorney for Timberlake and Biel, said in a statement.

The article in question allegedly contains an unauthorized picture of the couple and quotes attributed to Biel that she alleges she never said. According to UPI, the media is not allowed to report on the specific content of the article while the court considers the case.

According to UPI, the couple are filing suit in Ireland because they were advised that they would have a speedier outcome. The British publication is published by German publishers, Bauer Media Group.

“We are suing in Ireland in relation to publication in all jurisdictions, as our clients are entitled to do,” said Tweed.
