  • Director J.J. Abrams has confirmed that the Star Wars Episode VII script is ready to go, and that he has talked to Breaking Bad’s Jesse Plemons about a possible role in the film.

“We’re working really hard and we’ve got our script and we’re in deep prep,” Abrams told Entertainment Weekly. “Full steam ahead, y’know.”

On November 8, 2013, Walt Disney Pictures revealed, via Twitter, the official release date for Star Wars: Episode VII as December 18, 2015.

When asked about Plemons, Abrams revealed that he had, in fact, talked to him about taking on a part in the new movie, however he did not reveal what part he is being considered for. “He is one of the actors that we’ve talked to,” Abrams said regarding Plemons.

However, Plemons denied that he was being considered for a role, during a recent interview with Hitfix on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. Plemons simply brushed it off as just another “crazy rumor.” Hmmm…sounds like someone has their story confused.

Plemons was probably best known for his role as Landry Clark on Friday Night Lights, where he played an unlikely football star who rose to be one of the top players on the East Dillon Lions football team. More recently, Plemons has been playing the part of Todd, who is known as a sociopathic child-killer, on the hit show Breaking Bad.

While fans would love to see Plemons on the big screen in Star Wars: Episode VII, it looks as though there are some conflicting stories between Plemons and Abrams. Is Plemons actually being considered for the part? I guess only time will tell.
