  • This morning Jennifer Lawrence was named Celebrity of the Year on The Today Show.

Her quirky star power has recently helped the second installment of The Hunger Games hit $800 million worldwide. At age 22, she became the third youngest actress ever to to nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress, which she won for Silver Linings Playbook. Her role in American Hustle has now earned her another nomination for the Golden Globe Award as Best Supporting Actress.

Along with her talent, he Kentucky native has won the hearts of almost everyone with her fun personality and memorable public quotes.

During a interview with Jimmy Kimmel, she said, “I just went to the doctor today, I got a chest X-ray of my lungs and discovered that my breasts are uneven.”

While being interviewed on the red carpet at the Oscars, she said, “I can see the McDonalds right there. Wait, hold on, I didn’t say fries! I’m seeing you talk and all I’m seeing is me being pissed I didn’t get fries. And you have to remind them about ketchup because they never include ketchup, you have to ask for it. Cheapskates.”

At the Academy Awards when Lawrence was walking to the stage to accept her award, she tripped and fell. Once at the microphone, she said, “You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell and that’s really embarrassing, but thank you.”

Her personality goes on for days. But not everyone is a fan of the 23-year old star.

During a recent interview, Joan Rivers slammed Lawrence on her show, Fashion Police.

“My New Year’s resolution is [ensuring] Jennifer Lawrence grows up and realises how lucky she is and calms down.”

According to Express, this came after Lawrence made a comment about Rivers’ show while promoting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on ABC’s Walter’s Presents: The Ten Most Fascinating People of 2013.

“And there’s shows like the Fashion Police and things like that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on things … that they put values in all the things that are wrong and that it’s OK to point at people and call them ugly and call them fat and they call it ‘fun’ and ‘welcome to the real world,’” she continued. “And it’s like, that shouldn’t be the real world. That’s going to keep being the real world if you keep it that way. It’s not until we stop treating each other like that and just stop calling each other fat … with these unrealistic expectations for women. It’s disappointing that the media keeps it alive and fuels that fire.”

Using her Twitter account, Rivers shot back.

Rivers has had many bouts of plastic surgery herself, a fact she has never denied.

“I love that she’s telling everyone how wrong it is to worry about retouching and body image, and meanwhile, she has been touched up more than a choir boy at the Vatican,” she said. “Look at her posters. She doesn’t have a nose, she has two holes. She just has to learn, don’t talk if you’re doing it.”

Perhaps the 80-year old is spouting jealousy over a young women’s natural attributes. In fact, Lawrence has been very candid about any photos of her that were Photoshopped.

Upon seeing her Dior ads on the red carpet earlier this year, she said, “Oh my God, I haven’t seen this. I love Photoshop more than anything in the world. Of course it’s Photoshop; people don’t look like that.”

This season, Lawrence is scheduled to appear on the red carpet once again at the 2014 Academy Awards – and Rivers is scheduled to critique them. That should make an interesting start to a star-studded evening.
