  • Jennifer Aniston used to be married to Brad Pitt. Remember that? Now Brad Pitt is married to Angelina Jolie. Angelina Jolie used to be married to Billy Bob Thornton. I know you remember that. That was weird. But it happened.

But what if Billy Bob Thornton ended up with Jennifer Aniston? Supermarket checkout lines around the country might catch fire with all the tabloid smoke.

This very notion was floated in a post-Golden Globes interview with Billy Bob Thornton. After Thornton won the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie, he came off to be interviewed by Billy Bush and Kit Hoover. While Thornton had famously said little while accepting his award, he opened up a bit in the interview. Which is where things did a brief fly-by on the weird.

Prodding Thornton to play a game of Who Would You Rather, after Amy Poehler and Tina Fey had jokingly done so on stage, the pair asked:

Who would you rather: Jennifer Aniston or Reese Witherspoon?

“Jennifer Aniston. Lifelong goal, that’s all I’m saying,” Thornton responded quickly. Whether he had thought the wife-swap ramifications through or not went unsaid.

    He was then asked another:

    Jennifer Aniston or Keira Knightley?

“Jennifer Aniston. How many times does it take to get this through your head?”

Of course, Aniston is quite tight with her beau Justin Theroux. She did do a bit of butt-grabbing at the Golden Globes, verbally sparred a bit with Benedict Cumberbatch, and dropped the f-bomb whilst hailing a cab after the ceremony.

Aniston did not win a Golden Globe for her role in Cake. The award instead went to Julianne Moore for Still Alice.
