Janay Rice, the wife of suspended NFL running back Ray Rice, has broken her silence on her husband's punishment for the domestic violence video that was released to the public.

Ray has made national news since the February video was leaked.

Now, his career is essentially over after he was terminated by the Baltimore Ravens and suspended indefinitely by the NFL.

Janay, who is the woman in the video, has remained quiet on the situation ... until now. Janay took to her personal Instagram account to share her and her husband's pain.

“I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I’m mourning the death of my closest friend,” Rice wrote in her post.

“But to have to accept the fact that it’s reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media and unwanted options (sic) from the public has caused my family," she continued. "To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing.”

“What don’t you all get,” she continued. “If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you’ve succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow and show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love you!”

Fans are outraged that it took the video being leaked to get the media's attention of the attack. Because Janay decided to stay with Ray after the incident, Ray got very little punishment for his actions. Rather than pressing charges, Ray was issued to a diversionary program, and the NFL only suspended him for two games.
