Irish Luck To Bring More Google Jobs?

700 more positions at Google's Dublin-based European headquarters may be opening soon, and bring to 1,000 the number of people working in Dublin for the search advertising company.

Luck Of The Irish Coming To Google?
No one has officially confirmed the report on ElectricNews.net's web site, but a quick look at Google's jobs site for Ireland shows plenty of open positions across multiple facets of the business.

The report noted Google co-founder Sergey Brin praising Dublin as "an amazing place with incredibly talented people" when the center opened in 2004. Google operates globally, with centers of varying sizes on six continents.

Google's success at search has translated into a booming online advertising business. Contextual ads delivered in search results and across a network of published websites have been a multi-billion dollar source of revenue for the company.

Keeping ahead of search competitors has been a motivation for expanding globally. Google recently saw Credit Suisse First Boston raise its target price for shares of GOOG to $475 from $400, and fulfilling that promise means Google has a lot of work to do. It looks like a lot of that work will be done in Dublin by more people very soon.
