At the PlayStation 4 announcement in February and again at E3, Infamous: Second Son was easily one of the most impressive-looking next-gen titles announced. It was a bit of a blow, then, when Sony revealed that Second Son would not be a launch title for the PlayStation 4. For months now the title has been Sony's shiny fist-party bauble, sitting just out of reach for fans in its nebulous early 2014 release window.
Last night, though, Sony used the launch of the PlayStation 4 console to draw attention to upcoming next-generation games. In addition to a new Uncharted and exclusivity announcements for Destiny and Metal Gear Solid V, Sony and developer Sucker Punch finally unveiled the release date for the next Infamous.
Second Son will be released for PlayStation 4 on March 21, 2014. The game will be joining South Park: The Stick of Truth, Titanfall, and Dark Souls II in one of the most crowded release months for highly-anticipated games in recent history.
The release date was revealed at the tail end of a new trailer for Second Son. While protagonist Delsin Rowe has been shown with "smoke" powers throughout the year, the new video features a look at his flashy "neon" powers:
