In an airshow, India’s defence minister invited global aerospace firms to outsource jobs to the country.

Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that the country’s aviation industry has grown into one of the largest aeronautical complexes in Asia.

“There is tremendous scope for outsourcing from India in areas where the companies are competitive,” said Mukherjee.

“We are keen to welcome international collaborations that are in conformity with our national goals.”

According to newkerala.com,

Though India’s state-run aviation major Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has focused on the production of military aircraft using technology transfers over the past five decades, Mukherjee made a pitch for greater collaboration with other countries in the civilian sector.

“The Indian aeronautical industry is not only concentrating on military aircraft production, but also has dedicated facilities for civil aircraft manufacture and maintenance,” he said.
