My site at http://www.jodee.biz ranks 3/10 on google, and on alexa it ranks: “Traffic Rank for jodee.biz:337,641.” Other sites that link to this site: 447. What I would like to know is: how can I improve my ratings more for some of my keywords such as “grilling net gurus.” I am on the first page on others it can’t be found any suggestion I do trade links with other sites plus I have now added more content by way of articles and newsletters

Thank you,

Yikes! The first thing that caught my eye on your site was the “LinksToYou” button. Please read this article, and consider how many of those 447 incoming links are going to really help you:

You’ve got a good site outline, certainly enough to create a useful resource, but you’ve got to bring something unique to the table if you want to do consistently well on search engines.

I’d suggest that you put more of an emphasis on original content and articles, perhaps starting with truly unbiased, in depth reviews and comparisons of the products and services you recommend, including the pros and cons of each.

As you develop these articles, don’t just put them up on your site. Send them (or if they are very long, the 500-800 word versions of them) out to the “article announcement” mailing lists, and you’ll be amazed at how many high quality links you can generate in a very short time, because a lot of them will end up published on someone else’s website with a link back to yours. It’s the quality of links, more than the quantity, that drives search engine results.

You will probably generate a lot more sales this way – I sell more information products when I talk about what’s wrong with them, than I ever do when I only mention what’s right. Don’t try to put your affiliate links into the articles that you send out, just get a basic credit line & bio with a link back to your site. The visitors (and sales) will come, and not just from the search engines.

I hope this helps. I realize I may have created more questions with this answer, so feel free to follow up with me. Thanks for your time.
