The advantages of such a highly publicized beta: Lots of people noticing the quirks you might have missed in testing.

Several outlets are reporting on the bugs already noticed in Microsoft Beta 2 Preview of Internet Explorer 7. Besides multiple Google Toolbar bugs (which never would have happened if they hadn’t released so close to each other), we’re seeing:

From VNUNet:

Tom Ferris: “A denial of service vulnerability exists within Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 Beta 2 which allows for an attacker to cause the browser to crash, and or to execute arbitrary code on the targeted host.”
Users are unable to launch the McAfee Security Center
Some antispyware apps won’t let a DLL register
Some online banking sites won’t work (because they look strictly for IE6), like Washington Mutual

Yazan Malakha:

  • Sometimes, you can’t see what you’ve typed. I can confirm this bug myself.
  • Can’t open drupal RSS feeds
  • Spam Chongqing:

  • Multiple Gmail rendering bugs
  • Tribe.net:

  • Multiple rendering issues on Tribe.net
  • Notice any others?
