I got this release from AOL detailing their top searches of the summer so far. Some of the pop culture related searches confounded me. For example, why was Tom Cruise #23 among stars, while Katie Holmes is #17?

I mean, isn’t Holmes only engaged to Cruise because he is supposed to be more famous? And what in the holy hell is John Cusack doing at #12?

Meanwhile, while I can understand “The Dukes of Hazzard”‘s popularity (I’ll give you a hint, its not the script), I’m surprised to see it at #1 among movies. What about Batman, or War of the Worlds, or Fantastic Four? But, once again, John Cusack crashes the party, with his “Must Love Dogs” (? Never heard of it) coming in at #5.

Well, at least Britney isn’t number one anymore.

Full release in extended entry. There’s stuff in there about thong bikinis and videos of Jessica Simpson, if you like.

Read the rest of the post, which contains AOL’s press release.
