  • Heidi Montag and her husband Spencer Pratt will be spilling details of their new life in an E! special called “After Shock: Heidi And Spencer”, which will focus on their lives after “The Hills” and how they managed to go from being millionaires to living with their parents.

The couple says they were irresponsible with their money and admit that they were too immature to handle it all.

“We were immature,” Pratt said. “Every time we’d go out to eat, we’d order $4,000 bottles of wine. Heidi was going to the mall and dropping $20,000 to $30,000 a day. We thought we were Jay Z and Beyoncé.”

Montag famously had $30,000 worth of plastic surgery done to give her a perfect Barbie-like appearance, but later made some changes that included a breast reduction from the size F’s she had put in. The reality couple moved in with Pratt’s parents in 2011 when their money troubles got to be too much.

They aren’t the only celebs who have had a reality check when it comes to spending; Tori Spelling spoke recently about how she and husband Dean had to watch their budget following the cancellation of their reality show and Spelling’s hospitalization after the birth of her fourth child.

“I grew up rich beyond anyone’s dreams. I never knew anything else,” she said. “Even when I try to embrace a simpler lifestyle I can’t seem to let go of my expensive tastes. And then there’s my shopping problem. I’ve bought ridiculous amounts of stuff for the kids, clothing, toys, crafts.”

The actress said it all came down to the business they’re in, noting that they currently don’t have a project in the works.

“We’re in the entertainment business, and things change year to year,” she said. “We don’t have a series on the air right now, so we have to be more restrictive of what we can spend, just like anyone who doesn’t currently have a steady job.”
