Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have spent their fair share of time in the public eye. Not only did they star in MTV’s reality show The Hills alongside Lauren Conrad, the couple recently took part in ABC’s hit show Celebrity Wife Swap where Montag said she got to show her “authentic” side for the very first time.

“I’m a huge fan of the show,” Heidi told FOX411. “So, when we had the opportunity to do it, I just jumped right on it!”

“My mom saw the preview and she told me, ‘I can tell this is the first opportunity that you’ve ever had to be you.’ It’s just great to have that moment. It was really fun to just be more authentic and be in a situation and see what happens,” Heidi explained.

Montag recently opened up about her time spent on The Hills, and how the majority of the show was scripted to make her look like a bad person. She explained that with this show, she had a chance to just be the real Heidi.

Heidi had the opportunity to swap lives with four-time Olympian Amanda Beardwho, who lives in a rural part of Washington state. “I mean, I had no idea where I was going,” Heidi explained of her initial reaction to the area. “I thought that it was that guy who lived in a tree and builds the tree houses! The last person I ever thought I was ever going to swap with was Amanda Beard, that’s for sure.”

Montag’s episode of Celebrity Wife Swap will air on Tuesday, June 24, and she will be live tweeting throughout the entire show. “I’ve had the most positive response from this out of anything I’ve ever done–on Twitter and Instagram–everything,” Heidi said. “People are really excited about this, which I’m really glad about because it’s my favorite thing that we’ve ever done within our careers.”
