Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin have apparently broken up after just four months of dating, and Lawrence is citing Martin’s wife, Gwyneth Paltrow as the reason behind her decision. Despite having stayed together through her nude photo scandal and both of their hectic schedules, Lawrence reportedly decided to split up with Martin because of Paltrow’s looming presence in their relationship.
According to a source who spoke to HollywodLife.com, Lawrence felt like she had to compete with Paltrow for Martin’s attention and wanted to stop. “Chris is clearly not over Gwyneth and his main priority is his kids. Jennifer really respects him, but she wants a man of her own. And Chris has been spending lots of time with Gwyneth and their kids lately. It was just a bit too much for Jen. She doesn’t want to be second to anyone. You can’t blame her,” said the source.
Paltrow reportedly still has a lot of control over Martin and his activities, which would probably turn off prospective girlfriends of the Coldplay singer. Paltrow and Martin have often been seen together with their children since their split in March of this year. According to Daily Mail, the split between Lawrence and Martin followed just days after a family dinner at a sushi restaurant in Los Angeles, where Paltrow was seen tenderly stroking Martin’s face. Apparently, Lawrence was just having dinner with a friend elsewhere that same night.

But are Paltrow and Martin looking to reunite? That may not happen in the near future because Paltrow is rumored to be dating Glee and American Horror Story producer Brad Falchuk.

However, only Hollywood VIPs apparently are in the know about the relationship between Paltrow and Falchuk. An insider told Page Six that the couple are “openly dating, but behind closed doors,” going to private Hollywood parties together. Paltrow and Falchuk have reportedly spent time together over the summer in Los Angeles and the Hamptons as well as gone to a romantic getaway in Utah.
