Gwyneth Paltrow and her "conscious uncoupling" made up so much of Chris Martin's life during the time they were divorcing that the Coldplay front man wondered if he'd make it out alive. Add to that an on-again, off-again relationship with Jennifer Lawrence, and Martin felt like he was on a constant roller coaster ride--one he's glad has finally stopped.

"A few years ago I was in a kind of low place in my life and I was feeling kind of down and confused about everything," Chris Martin said during a recent interview on an Australian radio station.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin called it quits in 2014. Martin cites two specific things that helped him put the pieces of his life back together again.

"Some friends gave me a book called Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl and a poem called The Guest House by Rumi who was an Afghanistani poet," Martin, 38, revealed. "And those two things started me off on this whole journey that's ended up a few years later now where I just feel so happy to be alive."

The subject of Gwyneth Paltrow wasn't raised during this interview. Martin is glad that he and Gwyneth Paltrow have remained friends and work together in the raising of their children.

These days a new woman is in Chris Martin's life. Her name is Annabelle Wallis.

How does Gwyneth Paltrow feel about Annabelle Wallis? Probably if she doesn't infringe on her interactions with Chris--where the children are concerned, anyway--then she will be just fine.

Gwyneth Paltrow is no doubt a force to be reckoned with if things aren't going her way.

Fortunately for Chris Martin, everything seems calm for now.
