  • Groupon’s G-Pass, which lets buyers bypass box office lines and go right to the venue of interest, has reached one million redemptions since it’s inception, the company informs us in an email.

“Gaining momentum, G-Pass has already issued more than 700,000 tickets so far in 2013,” a Groupon spokesperson says, adding, “It has been adopted by hundreds of merchants across the United States and Canada, spanning categories such as music, sports, arts and theater and family events.”

“For subscribers, this means access to presale opportunities, premium tickets and packages that enhance the experience, as well as access to some of the most sought-after events in the best venues,” the spokesperson adds.

G-Pass was launched back in April of 2012 as part of Groupon Live and joint venture between Groupon and Live Nation Entertainment. It was actually launched in beta in October, 2011.

G-Pass tickets are printed out and taken directly to the gate at the venue. After Groupon processes the customer’s payment, it sends an email confirmation. For some reason, you have to print it, as Groupon specifically says in its Groupon Live FAQ that you nee to do so rather than pulling it up on the mobile app.
