Grand Turismo 6 Pre-Order Exclusives Announced
With a game being an exclusive to one console, gamers might think they would be spared the indignity of pre-release exclusive content offers. They would be wrong, as retailers are still fighting hard to get theirs. Until (and if) the all-digital distribution future Microsoft was envisioning arrives, gamers will be stuck picking and choosing their preferred pre-order content.
First off, anyone who pre-orders Gran Turismo 6 will get a special “4-Car Pack.” The content includes the BMW Z4 GT3 ’11, the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 ’13, the Tesla Model S Signature Performance ’13, and the Corvette Stingray (C7) ’14. Beyond that, it’s retailer exclusives.
Amazon is being fairly straight-forward with its pre-order offer. Anyone who pre-orders Gran Turismo 6 with Amazon will get $1 million in-game credit, straight-up.
GameStop’s offer is a bit more content-heavy. Gran Turismo fans who pre-order from GameStop will get content being labeled the “15th Anniversary Edition Upgrade.” It comes with 16 “unique” cars, customized paint chips, a race suit, a helmet, a PlayStation Network Avatar, and a free copy of the Beyond the Apex II app. The uniqueness of the cars comes from individual aesthetic changes or performance upgrades. The car line-up includes the 1968 Alpine A110 1600S, the 2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, the 2011 Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, and the 2013 SRT Viper GTS.
