Whenever a big-time company acquires new domains, especially when it comes to something the size of Google, many take notice. So when it was revealed that Google had purchased a number of new domain names, those who cover the search engine industry reacted.

Gary Price of the SEW Blog has released a comprehensive list of domains purchased by Google since the beginning of June 2005.

Another area of interest with newly acquired domain names is that they can provide a bit of insight into some possible features and services Google may be considering. Speculation like this is hard to curtail, especially when you take into account some of the domain names in question. These names of interest were highlighted by Philipp Lenssen at Google Blogoscoped. And like I said, when you look at the domain names, it’s hard not to speculate about possible upcoming Google services. The list is as follows:
