Google Headin to North Carolina?

    November 21, 2005

Some reports are surfacing in the blogsphere of Google opening up an office in North Carolina. Andy Beal cites Jason Caplain’s blog, Southeast VC, suggesting Google might be headed to Research Triangle Park (RTP), NC.

Caplain’s blog suggested the concentration of engineers would attract Google and went on to say that Google would probably acquire a local company instead of starting from the ground up. This would make it easier for the search engine company to work into the landscape of North Carolina.

This wouldn’t be the first time Google went after local talent. They’ve put together offices in Michigan and Arizona. Both places have high concentrations of tech types and North Carolina could be a nice fit.
