Wow, this story is so old, I don’t believe I’ve mentioned it since this blog was on Blogspot, but now there’s a little new info.

The RSS Blog notes that you can subscribe not just to a Gmail feed, but one limited to a single label. By creating a filter that automatically labels certain kinds of email, you can subscribe to a feed of that and get only that email in your aggregator.

This is the perfect way to get a Google News subscription into RSS, assuming your RSS reader supports authenticated feeds (Bloglines does not).

From the FAQ:

If you’d like to have a label view in your aggregator, just add the label name to the end of the feed URL. So, to view your work’ label as a feed, it’s https://gmail.google.com/gmail/feed/atom/work/.
