  • The moment that fans of Boy Meets World have been waiting for is finally here. The first teaser trailer featuring video footage of the spin-off Girl Meets World has been revealed, and features Cory and Topanga all grown up, and having to deal with their own kids.

The trailer for Girl Meets World shows Riley Matthews attempting to sneak out of her bedroom window along with her best friend Maya, only to be stopped by a grown-up Cory.

Girl Meets World will of course be returning Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel as Cory and Topanga, who have been married and have had two kids since the series finale of the original show. In addition, Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter will be playing the roles of Riley Matthews and Maya, respectively.

While only a 30-second clip, the teaser at least shows fans a bit of footage of what the characters will be like when the show finally premieres. Boy Meets World ended in 2000, and with a dedicated set of fans, the spin-off has been long overdue, and will debut on the Disney channel.

Due to the immense popularity of the show’s predecessor, the show was given a full-season order before even airing its pilot.

Everyone’s favorite former teacher of Cory and Topanga’s, Mr. Feeny will be returning to the show, in addition to a couple of other familiar faces. William Russ and Betsy Randle who played Cory’s parents in Boy Meets World, in addition to Rider Strong who played Shawn Hunter.

Much like Boy Meets World, which followed Cory’s adventures through life, Girl Meets World will follow Riley’s journey through junior high and beyond, all while trying to figure out her place in life.

Riley is set to have a similar role to Cory when he was younger, and Maya has been described as the wild best friend, sounding a bit like Shawn Hunter. Although it ended 14 years ago, the show still carries a great popularity for children of the 90’s, much like Friends, which has also teased about reunions over the years.

While the show will be on the Disney channel, and clearly aimed at the pre-teen to teen audiences, it is likely to attract many people that are now in their 20’s and 30’s that are still in love with he characters of Cory and Topanga as well.

Girl Meets World still has not been given a premiere date yet, but that should hopefully be available for fans soon. It will debut on the Disney channel sometime this summer, and it is likely to generate a widespread audience.
