  2. Hello,
Something I like about all the new features coming out from Google is that it helps keep us do it yourself website owners on level ground with the SEO companies. The search term I build upon is Sacramento Community Resources. My webpage is number two for that search term. I can say that when Google puts an extra link in the search results that is my webpage that people do respond to it, according to my website analytics. To that point, I have begun to pay closer attention to what Google is doing, and to read through what Webpro news has to say.

  3. Its still not clear to me how exactly I can change my page to get these results.

  4. Our new website http://www.comparecarehomes.com has recently launched and we are exploring ways of increasing our Google ranking without the use of a professional SEO company. Our webhosting company has offered some SEO assistance, but every knows that quality backlinks in the right places make a big difference.

Word on the street is (and by street, I mean random searches of SEO forums), that webpronews.com is an ‘Page Rank 6 Article Directory’. Is there any truth to this? I am learning lots about SEO very quickly, and there is a great deal of information freely available across the web. Many thanks to all you experts for your free help and assistance.

    Many thanks

  5. I checked out a few Google results listings for a variety of keyword phrases, and every listing with the Snippets that I followed did not have any Name Anchors on the page. The pags were full of a lot of sectionalized text, but with no Name Anchors that I could see. At any rate, from an SEO perspective, using Name Anchors with your keywords can help you in the listings, and hopefully with this new thing, it could help get better defined with direct links to your content.

I will give it a try.

P.S. It is amazing how many folks think that posting a non-relevant link in a blog post is somehow going to help them. All it does it take up space and away from relevant content. I guess you think Google does not account for that in their view of how relevant the link is to your site. Quanity is not as helpful as Quality!

  6. However for business, you may not want them to find some of these topics in such a direct manner. For instance, I think a lot of business owner would do something nasty w/ a brick if they saw “returns” as a topic there.
Here’s some others that traditionally we like to link to from lots of places but only in a very subtle manner as we’d like customers to know we have them but would rather their eyeballs be busy with our high converting content

  7. Does anyone have confirmation if Snippets feature in Google’s mobile search, or whether Google intends to implement them at any stage? I have posted a question on the Google forum, would appreciate any comments so that I can add them onto my blog too.

    Thanks

    Gary

  8. Being specific for a keyword is good for long tail, but you have to structure your site well for that deep link, Actually to make it easy for the spider bots to crawl…

  10. I’m thinking this is going to change the way lots of people write their content . . .

Here’s some others that traditionally we like to link to from lots of places but only in a very subtle manner as we’d like customers to know we have them but would rather their eyeballs be busy with our high converting content, instead of:
    Privacy
    Returns
    Service

Or what if it was a government web site:
    File a Complaint
    Suggestions
    Apply for Some Program

It would suck to accidentally get one of these topic list especially if the searcher used a purchase keyphrase like: “Buy Acme Widget”.
