Rumors have begun to swirl that Nick Denton’s next move after getting placement on Yahoo sites will be to establish a Gawker-like site that looks at the drama and gossip in Silicon Valley.

Can a chatty insider blog by an outsider thrive in NDA-happy Silicon Valley? We may find out soon if the posting at Jack of all Blogs that picked up the details from A Blog Soup comes true.

Blogebrity’s Nick Douglas will depart that site in favor of Denton’s growing blog empire and end up in California, where he’ll helm the as-yet-unnamed site for Denton. To say a number of blogs already cover Silicon Valley is an understatement.

A new site will have to cultivate the inside sources that make Gawker an interesting read. Among bloggers, Douglas is well-known from his Blogebrity days and that could be what gets some of the more potentially interesting sources available there to open up to him.

This new blog may take the space in the Gawker Media list of blogs that Fleshbot once occupied. Ever since the Yahoo deal, the adult-oriented Fleshbot vanished from the list of blogs in the “Published By Gawker Media” box that appears on Gawker and its related sites.
