  • The Hunger Games director Gary Ross will not be directing the sequel titled Catching Fire. The decision was made after Lionsgate refused to pay him more money but Ross also cites the fact that he doesn’t care for the other books in the series as much as he did the first one as a contributing factor.

Before his HG success he was known for directing Pleasantville and Seabiscuit, both of which featured Tobey Maguire in the lead role.

Ross’s first produced screenplay was 1988’s Big, for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay.
