Fox Drives Movie Promotion On Your PC

News Corp and Maven Networks in partnership on delivery of downloadable movie trailers and content.

It’s all about eyeballs.

Fox wants to make sure potential customers of five summer movies, including “Fantastic Four,” see the best trailers they can see. And that may help drive consumers to theaters.

By making high-quality trailers and other video clips downloadable, users can store them and view them without suffering the usual stops and starts that can plague streaming video.

According to a Wall Street Journal article citing Arbitron and Edison Media Research, 81% of American consumers had Internet access from at least one location.

That probably figures in Fox’s planning. Advertisers will likely try to take advantage of this by sponsoring or even producing content specifically for the Internet market.
