I have to say, this is great news. I have always loved and appreciated FireFox and looked forward to the day it surpassed Microsoft IE.

Mozilla better be careful, they are becoming more and more like IE and are losing what made Firefox a great browser. Firefox 3.5 is bloated, slower to load and display. In addition, upgrading from one version to the newer version is becoming a hassle, which each upgrade you have to go through large numbers of incompatibilities, especially on the security side. Granted Firefox has an easy way to report bugs, it’s becoming increasingly annoying with each upgrade.
IE8 has its own issues, even in compatibility mode, a lot of older websites are not showing correctly in IE8.
As far as Chrome is concerned, it still has a long way to go, but if Microsoft and Mozilla keep going in the same direction, they will help Google carve a much larger share of the browser business.

What a load of rubbish. Misleading title on this article. It was only the most downloaded. My website stats say IE 73% and Firefox 17% of browsers.

    Congrats to Firefox!

I am a web developer and love Firefox and the features/add – ons that you can download. Firefox also is a web developers browser. It doesn’t let you get by with bad coding.

I actually hated Firefox when it came out because it didn’t let you get by.

Now I can’t function without it. Some of the add-ons that are offered are very beneficial to web developers and namely SEO professionals.

    Here’s to another five years!
