Fifty Shades Of Grey, Fifty Shades Of Confusion
[ Life]

Nobody said it would be easy to cast stars for one of the most successful trilogies concerning a vulnerably heated relationship. However, nobody could have predicted the string of complications that have befallen the Hollywood project of bringing the escapades of Christian Grey to life on the big screen. Fifty Shades Of Grey‘s widespread popularity is proving to create some problems.

First, there are those who still question the popularity of the series written by E L James and the desire to have the films made in the first place.

Concerns have also centered around the script where Academy Award-nominated screenwriter Patrick Marber has now been added to refine the present script.

There is also the issue of finding and keeping the right movie stars for the job. Charlie Hunnam had all the ingredients to be an ideal candidate; however, backed out due to reported claims of conflicting work requirements and rumors of discouragement regarding an overwhelming level of media attention.

While casting agents are busy buzzing about the potential Mr. Grey, Dakota Johnson has decided to remain.

So, who will assume the role of Christian Grey? Ian Somerholder of Vampire Diaries fame, Matt Bomer of White Collar, Alexander Skarsgard from True Blood, and Jamie Dornan from Once Upon A Time have all been mentioned as possibilities.

Even Patrick Dempsey was cornered about potential rumors to play the role.

The elusive task of finding and pinning Christian Grey down is proving to be as complicated for Hollywood bigwigs as it was for the fictitious Anastasia Steele.

I really wish Charlie Hunnam didn’t drop out. I think he’s the best pick for this role. So disappointed!!!!

THE BEST CHOICE THEY CAN MAKE IS ALEXANDER SKARSGARD!!! HE HAS IT ALL. THE LOOKS, THE TALENT, THE SEX APPEAL. YOU DONT EVEN HAVE TO MOLD HIM INTO CHRISTIAN GREY HE SIMPLY IS CHRISTIAN GREY. DONT CAST SOME MODEL WHO CANT ACT HIS WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG. ALEXANDER IS CHRISTIAN GREY!!

Tami I agree 100% Alexander Skarsgard was the one I pictured as I read the books..he is a GREAT actor, he is tall like Christian, good looking and is sex on long legs…he is Christian thru and thru….stop looking and sign him already…you will not be disappointed. can play 50 shades with no problem…if you ever saw him act in True Blood you would have no doubts…..for millions of women everywhere ….we implore you sign Alexander…..

Yeah, I’m with “itsmedana” up there — why in the hell is this book so popular? I read all three books and I feel like a fool for doing so. They were terrible as good hardcore erotic fiction, maybe passable as fanfiction. How in the world are they going to make movies from this? I just…I don’t get it. I wonder if they’ll cast real actresses to portray the wanton ‘inner goddess’ and stern ‘subconscious’ that Ana refers to over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again in all three books…hope poor Dakota Johnson doesn’t ‘bite her lip’ off during filming, and hope she’s comfortable being filmed ‘down there’ while she ‘shatters’ into millions of pieces during one of her many on-cue orgasms. God.

The entire movie should be dropped!! This is clearly meant for lonely housewives who’s husbands won’t screw them. Nothing sexy or even fun about BDSM and all that crap. Wives would get more enjoyment from a vibrator.

  • Brittany

Ian Somerhalder is who I want to see in this role.

    • Kim

Definitely! Ian Somerhalder would be perfect for the role. He is VERY good looking…yummy….

I don’t care whom it is just as long as they are good looking. I read the books and Christian was the kind of man that gave me the impression of being a young good looking man. Someone clean cut and well kept. Someone that had every hair in place, shaved everyday, and always was in a suit and tie unless he was at home. The character needs to be like him.
I hope whom ever they choose he is a very nice looking man or I know a lot of women that will be disappointed.
Also I liked the books. It gave me hope after my divorce and hope that there are good men out there in this world. Not all men are animals and think only of themselves. There are a few and only a few that are TRUE Gentlemen…

Alexander Skarsgard HIM HIM PICK HIM!! ERIC NORTHMAN!!! JUST PICK HIM!! The hotness must be made!! I don’t agree with anything anyone is saying anymore just pick him!!! I’e been rooting for him since day one of this mentioned he needs to grasp at this role!

    • Gracie

Elisa, I agree with you 100% Alexander is Christian Grey…they couldnt pick anyone better.

I think Scott Eastwood would make an ahhhmazing Christian Grey.

    Dear EL James:
When all of they talk first came out about “Fifty Shades of Grey”
mind mind went back to a book written by the late writer
Jacquline Susann and the book “The Love Machine”
She wrote that back in May of 1969.
“The Love Machine” was 1970′s “Fifty Shades of Grey”
Don’t know if you’ve ever read the book, but there are many
simialrities between Christian Grey and Robin Stone, the main
    character in “The Love Machine.
Robin Stone, tall, handsome, super sexy…Loves ice cold Vodka
is a “Up/coming news reporter at a CNN type news channel in
the early 1960′s he loves women, and kinky sex~ Just like
your Christian Grey does….He’s in his early to mid 30′s
He dates models…everywoman worth her salt wants to bed him.

Now there was a film of the same name starring the late actor
John Phillip Law.He played “Robing Stone” also in the cast
was the actress Dyan Cannon,Robert Ryan,Shecky Green,Jackie Cooper
and David Hemmings….Good film check it out,it should be on DVD??

Now about who you think you’d like to see play Christian Grey????
I’ve seen the actors who your casting agents THINK they’d like???
Problem is that all of the actors they’ve seen are WRONG for the part!

Robin Stone was an older man,not some school boy out of college.
Think of “Aging” the character? Make him someone who’s in his
late 20′s to mid 30′s~ The perfect actor in my opinionn is
the eldest son of the actor Stellen Skarsgard.

Alexander Skarsgard, tall, blond, blue green eyes,6’5″ and has been
voted the “Sexist Man in Sweden” for the last 5 years.
He stars as “Eric Northman,Sherriff of Area Five” on HBO’s TrueBlood!!
Every woman alive wants this man!!
Go onto FaceBook and read the threads about him!!
YOU’LL See what the women want and who they DON”T WANT.
