The Food and Drug Administration is alerting consumers not to purchase products on the Internet that fraudulently claim to cure cancer.

The FDA has sent warning letters to 23 U.S. companies, 1 Canadian, and 1 Australian company asking them to stop selling 125 products that claim to cure, treat or prevent cancer.

"Although promotions of bogus cancer ‘cures’ have always been a problem, the Internet has provided a mechanism for them to flourish," said Margaret O’K. Glavin, the FDA’s associate commissioner for regulatory affairs.

"These warning letters are an important step to ensure that consumers do not become the victim of false ‘cures’ that may cause greater harm to their health."

The products being sold online claiming to cure cancer include ingredients such as bloodroot, shark cartilage, coral calcium, cesium, ellagic acid, Cat’s Claw, an herbal tea called Essiac, and mushroom varieties such as Agaricus Blazeii, Shitake, Maitake, and Reishi.

The FDA said the fraudulent claims made by the companies include, "Treats all forms of cancer," "Causes cancer cells to commit suicide!," "Target cancer cells while leaving healthy cells alone," "Shrinks malignant tumors," "Avoid painful surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or other conventional treatment."

The FDA is urging consumers to consult their health care provider about discontinuing use of these products and to seek medical attention if they have experienced any adverse effects.

Companies that fail to properly resolve violations cited in the warning letters are subject to seizure of illegal products, injunction, and possible criminal prosecution.

A full list of the companies targeted by the FDA can be found on their Web site.

Of course the FDA wants to crack down on cures for cancer! There’s no money in Shark Cartillage for them and YES, it does work. Just read ‘Sharks Don’t Get Cancer’ By Dr. Lane. Chemotherapy KILLS it’s as simple as that. These corrupt FDA officials want everyone to think they really care about consumers. What they care about is the pocket books of the AMA members.

Case studies have proven that Shark Cartillage has been responsible for so many cancer cures the FDA is afraid people will turn away from the traditional harmful treatments administered by the Medical profession.

When are consumers going to wake up and start seeking alternative treatments than those of the traditional ones. Pick up a copy of any PDR Physicians Desk Reference, you know, the one that all the doctors use to administer drugs. Just pick any page and start reading you won’t find ONE Single Drug that does not have Harmful adverse reactions associated with it.

Isn’ t it time to stop going to Doctors and start going to Health Food Stores?

In my eyes the FDA has not had much credibility since the Thalidomite approval.  Many people may not remember this drug that was approved by the FDA and the problems that it caused.  I have seen many things that they have "approved" go sour.  I don’t think they have the moral right not to give people independant choices.

Interesting stuff. Again this is a progressive case that will bring other similar cases forward.

I and others have used herbal and alternative treatments that fight disease.  The FDA needs to watch our food supply.  Go after Mcdonalds and the garbage that is sold everywhere.  No wonder the US is the most unhealthy civiliazed  population in the world.

The FDA Food Deception Administration is doing their job in protecting the AMA and Pharmaceutical companies business at the expense of consumer’s health. It’s amazing how ignorant and brainwashed people can be about this. Billions go into drug research. There "Ain’t" no money in it for the AMA or FAD for Nutritional solutions!

Wake up folks, the human body is not a machine, it feeds off of NATURAL supplements and nourishment, not synthetic carcenegenic processed CRAP! How many people have you heard say "they’ve got stomach problems and something the medical profession calls ‘indigestion?’"So they run to the doctor, get a prescription and think that’s it!  Now they end up later with severe stomach problems and other symptoms that were caused by medication. These boneheads don’t realize that all they have to do in most cases is put something in their stomach, milk, muffin , toast etc. Wait 3 minutes and all of a sudden their problem is gone. The FDA and AMA do NOT want you to go this direction.

So what’s the Food Deception Administration do, targets companies that bring AWARENESS to Alternative Solutions, Solutions that in many cases have NO side affects and actually Cure!  Get a copy of Kevin Tredeaus best selling book "Natural Cures ‘They’ Don’t Want You To Know About." He reveals the shocking truth of how drugs – which are being advertised directly to the consumer, pushing their use to an all-time high – are actually the cause of illness and disease climbing to near epidemic levels.’

Remeber the FDA is a Government Agency, is there any more that needs to be said???!!

My brother, Ken, who has terminal cancer, absolutely believes that before the invention of Big Pharma, there was nothing placed on this earth that could relieve suffering or cure diseases.  He would never entertain the idea of using any sort of medication which has not been approved by the FDA.  I believe that the FDA’s leadership shares his philosophy.  It’s kind of like doubting God (for turning his back on the afflicted)  and slapping him/her in the face.

I would commend the FDA for cracking down on bogus cancer cures if I believed in their sincerity.  Unfortunately, the opposite is true.  According to two separate articles I have found, this insidious government agency is intent on total destruction of the health food industry.

The FDA is not to be trusted.  They don’t care about us.  Case in point:  Gardasil pushed on young girls.  Do I need my ears cleaned out, or did I hear the news media report over 8000 adverse events after innoculations?

Good grief!  We pay their salaries only to be betrayed.  How do we hold them accountable?

I am glad the FDA cracked down on people making false claims to cure cancer. This is a horrible disease and people should not be mislead with false hopes.
