  • Facebook was down in regions of Europe, Africa and the Middle East this morning due to a technical glitch, for roughly two hours. Service has since been restored, and in a statement, Facebook stated, “today we experienced technical difficulties causing the site to be unavailable for a number of users in Europe – The issue has been resolved and everyone should now have access to Facebook. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

    According to a sampling of Tweets on the matter, Facebook was offline in Egypt, Turkey, Russia, Iceland, France, Germany, Italy, The UK – but still up in Hawaii, Japan and Sweden. More isolated areas, like Pakistan and South Korea were reportedly also hit.
