Erin Andrews was under a lot of scrutiny last night during the two-hour premiere of Dancing with the Stars. Not only was the Fox Sports broadcaster venturing out into unknown territory in her gig as reality show co-host, but Brooke Burke-Charvet was let go not even one month ago. Fans of Brooke were going to be extra harsh on Andrews and fans of the show in general would be looking to see how Andrews handled her co-hosting duties.

By all accounts, Andrews did a nice job in her inaugural show last night, which kicked off Season 18. The 35-year-old former contestant and finalist immediately separated her style from Brooke’s. People Magazine TV Critic Tom Gliatto thought that Andrews looked comfortable in her new role. “Andrews talks with the flat, unhesitant delivery and slanginess of an experienced announcer, and she casually plants herself on the floor with a kind of no-nonsense strength. She is angular and even willowy, but her center of gravity appears to be unshakable. If you covered the Super Bowl, wouldn’t you be the same way? How would you survive otherwise?”

Of course, there was mixed reaction on Twitter. Some people liked Andrew’s delivery, while others did not. It seemed like the biggest complaint against Andrews was the tone of her voice.

Here’s the list of stars and their dancing partners for Season 18:

SEAN AVERY partnered with KARINA SMIRNOFF
CANDACE CAMERON BURE partnered with MARK BALLAS
DREW CAREY partnered with CHERYL BURKE
MERYL DAVIS partnered with MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY
NENE LEAKES partnered with TONY DOVOLANI
JAMES MASLOW partnered with PETA MURGATROYD
DANICA MCKELLAR partnered with VALENTIN CHMERKOVSKIY
DIANA NYAD partnered HENRY BYALIKOV
AMY PURDY partnered with DEREK HOUGH
CODY SIMPSON partnered WITNEY CARSON
CHARLIE WHITE partnered with SHARNA BURGESS
BILLY DEE WILLIAMS partnered with EMMA SLATER

haters, just cause you are not 6 ft tall and can not include a resume that equals Erins just sit back in your trailor park and watch the TV

She sucks and she is way to aggressive in her questioning. She doesn’t have a soft demeanor and she is great as a football commentator, but this is not for her.

Because we tell the truth we are haters???? Sorry, Erin but your voice drives everyone in near contact to distraction. You either want to plug your ears or totally tune out! Nasal, irritating, one tone, and who wants to feel like your at a sports event when watching DWTS!! Also, what up? Are they going to fire Tom B also? He only said about two words and Erin towers over him. Totally took him out of the picture and sure not a team like he and Brooke were. Also, Erin has no class if last night is a foretelling of the future. Asking questions is okay, but not in bad taste!! And is this the way all the music is going to sound now? Most of it just has a hip hop sound. Really not good. You producers sure cheapened up DWTS. How much longer do we have before you have to shut down if you have to go that cheap?!!!!! So Sad as a DWTS fan from day 1.
